I think kakarvitta is the eastern gateway of nepal for indian visitors. Kakarvitta buspark is very well managed with good facilities for visitors. There are good waiting halls and proper restrooms in busparks. The visitors can get the bus service to eveery nooks and corner of the country from kakarvitta bus park .

The main bus stand at the entry point in Nepal. Here you can find public transportation for both into the heart of Nepal or back to the Indian subcontinent. The bus station was much cleaner compared to the Indian counterparts. The fares charged by the buses is strictly according to the prescribed fares by the government of Nepal. For far off places inside Nepal you might have to change bus from a connecting station. Lots of private operators are also available nearby. Here you can also find buses for Kathmandu and other places of interest.
There are also a lot of money changers who would be more than happy to change major currencies into Nepali currency.

We arrived late but we got the bus to Kathmandu. But you need to book through a third person or broker. But don't have to worry they are nice and helpful

Dont expect too much from facilities from this place.but yes you can get vehicles that will take you to destinations like Kathmandu,Pokhara ,Dharan,Biratnagar, Janakpur, Siliguri, Sikkim and many more.you can also hire vehicles for your convinence..but be aware to bargain for decent money to payotherwise you might be paying more than required.beware of pick pocketing.you might be pennnyless..buy ticket beforehand and please compare bus fare as much as you can..

It is the eastern border (Nepal/India). The place is busy. Cheap / Expensive hotels are available here. Since it's a border you can get currency exchanger everywhere. Another business hub Birtamod is just 10 mile away from here. Here is no airport , nearest airport is bhadrapur airport.

Overall good place. Transit point for tourists who travels towards inside Nepal.Good roadway communication available.It charges Rs 800 to Rs1000(INR)for one side trip to Kathmandu,depends upon a/c or non a/c bus service.

Except for the sanitation, the hustles and bustles of the park area can be entertaining for some for some time. Being a entry point to Siliguri, India, it's a famous crossover border point. Nepalese go across for shopping mainly for food items (e.g sugar, grains), and some clothes.
