Hotel Moonlight is on the edge of Thamel, less than one kilometer from Kathmandu Mall and Times Square Mall. It offers a rooftop terrace with lovely views of Kathmandu.
The colorful rooms at Moonlight Hotel offer a choice of air conditioning or a fan. Each room has a TV, a small sitting area, and a laptop-sized safe. The private bathroom has a bathtub and shower.
The hotel provides free Wi-Fi and free airport pick-up. A tour desk offers travel assistance and car or motorbike rental. The staff can also assist with currency exchange and laundry services.
Open 24 hours daily, the restaurant and bar serves local and international dishes. Guests can also order room service.
Hotel Moonlight is a 20-minute drive from Tribhuvan International Airport. Royal Palace Museum is just a 5-minute drive away.
Thamel is a great choice for travelers interested in shopping, food and hiking
Basically everything met my expectations. In general Nepal is just building up it’s tourism sector. This requires training, patients and experience. I can’t expect the same service as I experience in Dubai. But things are going in the right direction.
Great location right at the outesode of Thamel. You can walk I side the tourist area but also can walk downtown to the city with all its beautiful Tempels, Stupas and discover quirky Kathmandu. Considering that Nepal has a lack of resources and struggles with poverty and governmental issues I was very surprised. The internet was amazing. Hot water, cleaningness and also heater witch is very important when you come in December was perfect. Of course put it all into context. This is Nepal not Bali. I can highly recommend.

To me Moonlight Hotel was a heaven in the middle of the Kathmandu's city chaos.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a maintenance and it was very noisy during the day. I was unlucky it was happening while I was staying there. The room was clean and comfortable. There was an amazing breakfast we enjoyed most. There is a beautiful garden that you can have your breakfast or other meals of the day, or use for refreshments. I loved it and took my book to the garden and read it while having my drink.
I stayed there before and after my Everest climb and absolutely loved it.

This has to be one of the best mid-range hotels in/on the edge of Thamel. It is conveniently located, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, feature tasteful moonlight-themed decor, each plug outlet will take any type of pins, USA, Australian, UK etc. Our shower was always hot, and the breakfast is perhaps the best in Thamel hotels. The management have really invested thoughtfully and you get to experience the fantastic result!

Modern rooms, staff relatively helpful, not the best value but pleasant enough.

A well organised place but would say compact in terms of space. People might get confused where is help desk, reception, resturants, etc. They have good food and delicious one. The parking is "no space" most time. Its almost 25 years old but renovated and good interiors. Its near to thamel so easy access to thamel if you plan to go around and also cab hire are just 200 meter away on main road.

I would not even give one star to it pathetic. I went here with some of my friends and they behaved as we were there for free and sadly that's the mentality here on another note the manager with specs is a cunning fellow who also tried to dupe my friend by charging 100$ room and accomodating in the room which is 15$ in hotel beside it, simply unprofessional hotel with negative vibes all around, avoid if possible.

Nice Hotel, but be aware if you purchase aSafari, trek, taxi Any kind of activities/services They will be really more expensive for almost the same things that you can get in a tourist office.
