Amazing Experience – We completed a 7 day non stop treck from luckla to Everest base camp in April 2016 – atmosphere got colder day by day but any able body person can do it with right equipment’s ( sleeping bag , jackets , shoes , glows , shades and sun cream )
All you need is courage and never give up attitude , you feel very sick and less energy as you climb due to less oxygen but you should keep going . hope this helps
A place where I dreamt to be since I knew about mountain. It is a spectacular place from where we can have 360 degrees of mountain view Flowers and small plants make it more exciting to walk to a place called base camp, base camp it self is on a moving platform, khumbu glacier. It is all surrounded by melted water around and we have to walk through a maze of rocks to actually reach the base of the mountain Everest
The location and view is fantastic. Captive audience though. Make sure you have tissues and water before arriving. Safe trip and love it!
Everest base camp (located in the base of Kumbhu Ice Fall) is the last walk-able point of the Everest trek where a person can trek without any special technical knowledge and equipment. Hundreds of passionate mountaineers visit this remarkable point every year. Due to high altitude (which is more than 17,000 ft) one needs to acclimatize properly before reaching Everest base camp. The trek takes between 10 - 20 days depending on the health and fitness level of the individual.
I've heard so many people talk about how overrated Everest Base Camp is, that I had so little expectation. So when I actually visited, it was quite a pleasant surprise.
I think part of the reason I enjoyed it, was because we arrived very early, before all the tour groups, so we had the whole place to ourselves for 20 solid minutes. It was also not climbing season, so the glacier was not filled like a tent city. It was a very nice and quiet moment to take in the surrounding mountains and the massive glacier we're standing on.
True, you can't actually see Everest from the Base Camp viewpoint itself, but it's mostly visible on your hike there. The scenery is not going to be award winning, but if you set your expectations low, like I did, you might be surprised.
Worth the whole effort. The amount of blood and sweat toiled is nothing compared to the sense of achievement that you feel when you reach here. Very few places in the world give you that profound sense of happiness that this place does. Two of the most memorable weeks of my life. The cold and the lack of oxygen will get to you eventually, albeit temporarily if you are lucky enough. A true test of patience, grit and determination.
A truly mesmerizing experience to walk the 140 km amongst worlds highest peaks. The spectacular views and warmth of locals makes this trip an experience of a lifetime. If you are still wondering to do it or not, then go for it as nothing comes close what you would feel here. All the best.
Trekking to base camp is a life changing experience. Every adventure junkie should have this in their Todo list.
Base camp is kind of cold and okay but the views of the peaks are nice. There are better places where you can get even better views of Everest, summit (Kala pathar). The journey is what a treat for your eyes, body and soul..
The place where climbers start their ascend to the summit of Mt. Everest. I had the pleasure of leading a hiking trip with a senior and teenager. Challenging but doable good fun if you make enough preparations
Amazing experience to trek up there. The harsh conditions the summit teams go through is kind of hard to believe!! Had amazing hospitality of Indian Army camp, whose effort on everest cleaning expeditions are no less commendable..
Being at the foothills of the highest peak in the world is truely spectacular. Every corner of the Himalayas are mesmerising and interacting with the local Nepalese is a humbling experience. You fall in love with the scenery and the people. Highly recommend spending your time in this beautiful country.
A harsh and windswept place. What it means to be here can't be communicated in writing, it has to be experienced.
Be sure to allow plenty of time and pay attention to the weather. It's going to be freezing but it'll be well worth it if you get a calm and clear weather window.
Daaaaaami xa
Aile samma ghumeko daami thau
I still miss that cofee.😂
Worth a visit if you are in the area but want good weather otherwise there is not much to see except tents and snow. Allow 2-3 hours from Gorak Shep each way and another 1-2 hours depending on how far into the camp you wish to hike. In May 2017 there were over 650 climbers and 1000 tents which spread out for nearly 2 km along the valley.
my name is Donald trump and im going to build the biggest hotel here, it's going to be yuuuge, fantastic, unbelievable, believe me. the best hotel in the world, just the best.
I had been in Everest Camp before 4 months. I really love nature and places of Nepal can take u close to the real natural beauty. I really appreciate accent himalaya team with whom I enjoyed my whole trip. I love their facilities and experienced guide provided to the international and national tourists . So, I strongly recommend all the nature lover visitors to travel with this team and have a memorable moments in their life. thank you again Accent Himalaya for your Excellent Managemt.
Oh my, what can I say about this amazing historical site. My heart was pounding when I walked into the camp, seeing all the prayer flags covering the EBC focal point.
The scenery changed quickly from the traditional rock to ice and rock as you're now walking in the glacier.
Definitely the epitome of my hiking trip, the colours of blue aqua and white snow, the grey rocks and then the Slapshot of color from the yellow and red camp tents made the whole place just surreal.
It was an 8 day hike, some easy, some extremely difficult All of it long but well worth the hike.
Something about walking to the camp on the long narrow rock ledge and seeing these famous mountains that feel so close to can reach out and touch them.
Everest Base Camp is at 5364 m. Mountaineers camp here and at various higher camps for acclimatisation. The route further is through the notorious Khumbhu icefall. Sherpas help to establish route and set up camps. Porters will transport the stores to the newly set camp. Climbers with the help of sherpa guides cross the glacier and reach camp 1 ( 5943 m, 6 hour ). Then climb down to Base camp. Again climb to camp 1 and stay at night.
Then climb to camp 2 ( 6400 m, 6 hour ) and return back to camp 1. Then climb to camp 2 and spend a night here. Oxygen cylinders will help the climber during ascent. Further up is camp 3 ( 7162 m, 9 hour depending on your fitness and acclimatization level ), your last camp before summit. The climb requires rock climbing and climbing on snow skills.
Night stay at camp 2. Then climb again to camp 3 with night halt.
The route to summit is via South col ( 8016 m ) and Hillary step. One has to start at midnight for summit attempt using head lamps/ moon light. The Mt. Everest climbing expedition can range upto 60 days ( April & May ).
Trekking to base camp is a life changing experience. Every adventure junkie should have this in their Todo list.

It's fantastic to be here. A unique place where you can see the mountain view that spectacular
We reached base camp and wait to shoot stars, Milky Way with Mount Everest. The weather change very fast here! We took the shuttle bus to base and wait for show the top of Mount Everest! It still very far for us!
A peace of heaven on earth!! We did 15 days Everest base camp trek with Breakfree Adventures locally owned company based in Kathmandu. The guide, porter and driver of this company is excellent. We had got a very good price as well. If you are thinking of Nepal, think of Breakfree. They are the best!!
