  Like some of the best bars in the world, this place looks like a dive. It's got no lighting in parts, no music when it's not live and it's open to the elements. It's really just a roof over a concrete platform.
  
  But Base Camp is so much better than the fancy bars that pop up everywhere.
  
  This is a bar for people who like atmosphere and get togethers with great people and live music. For people who prefer substance over form.
  
  I love the fact that you can't tell the difference between the barman and the clientele. They are of one spirit. No false divisions here. A band of brothers.
  
  First time I came here I met some awesome Nepali writers. This time the place is empty but the atmosphere is still good. It's authentic, that's the word that sums it up.
  
  As Arnie says, I'll be back.

  Possibly the best damn bar in Patan. Live music Thurs and Sat brings in some of the tightest talent in the valley. Definitely recommend.
