Historic temple with good structures. Very old buildings and structures, and old civilization. Had a long talk with a local shopkeeper, whose family has been living there for more than 3-4 generations, who said that the temple is older than the inception of Buddhism.
The amazing thing is, the temple is a synchronization of Buddhism and Hinduism. Lots of Buddhist pilgrimages and tourists were around.
However, the road is a little bit uncomfortable, non pitched.
Still lots of information to be gathered about the history and origination of the temple.

A superb temple complex that is accessed by a very long stone stairway. Once you get up you are blown away by the very old and rich Newari architecture and metal and wood carvings. This place breathes history, tradition and religion. It has been damaged by the 2015 earthquake so not everything is in fully restored yet but most of the temple and surrounding building are still OK. It is a steep uphill walk from Sankhu (but it typically takes only 15 minutes for a fit person) and a nice start of further hikes in the surroundings giving you sweeping views of the Kathmandu Valley.
