A great spot and an ethical establishment
We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting local NGOs. It is centrally located between Kapon Monastary and Boudha Stupa. It overlooks the impressive Kopan Nunnery. It is well worth popping up to the rooftop restaurant /bar for the view of the nunnery which is in the process of building a new stupa in its grounds which should be most impressive when completed. This is also a good spot to relax with a book or catch up on emails etc - the free WIFI is good.
Breakfast and dinner is created to order and the food is very tasty. The menu is varied with local, Tibetan and western dishes available.
There are only 4 rooms (large and airy) so it has an intimate feel. Prices are well below other tourist hotels in the area.
The owners are delightful. They also run a charity; The Azizz Foundation, to which profits are used for the benefit of school projects in deprived and earthquake-damaged areas.
A comfortable and ethical choice to stay or eat if you are visiting the area.
