Excellent location. Helpful owner. We enjoyed our stay here. Water falls and brooks around. Wonderful view of surrounding mountains. Good coffee shop. Good Time to be quite.

We were lucky and met the owner just 1 minute before he closed for the day and could rent the last available cabin for the night. Very friendly staff, cabins with good standard.

I have been visiting here ever since I was a little kid and this place has over a decade of memories for me. The family that run it are the kindest people you will ever meet. We first meet them when there was a double booking in another location and they offered to house us in one of their own homes when we had no where else to go.

Vi fikk en helt grei hytte her, og kjappt levert når det viste seg at hytta vi egentlig hadde bestillt ved vannkanten i Jølstervatnet var overbooka. Hyttene ligger ikke så langt unna elva men den var flomstor og lot seg nesten ikke fiske i på grunn av tett vegetasjon.

We stayed here in July 2007. The accomodation we had was one of the newer cabins, and was excellent. We had to pick up the key and bedding from the nearby Sommerkafe. You could also eat there, and stock up in the small supermarket. The main town Skei is only about 12 minutes drive away. It slept four easily, and had good facilities, including a fitted kitchen, TV, washing machine and shower. Stardalen was so convenient for touring Jolster, and lots of hiking trails. One of our favourite hikes was to Oldeskaret, where we could see the Briksdal galcier tumbling down 1200m into the next valley. Absolutly breath taking! Pick up a hiking map from the tourist information, or take a guided tour. The visitor book in the cabin was also evidence that others heaped high praise on the community and it's accommodation too. If only we'd had more time to explore further. If you want to get away from it all, surrounded by peace and tranquility, Stardalen is truly worth considering.
