The Scandic Parken is a great place to stay while in Ålesund. The rooms and bathrooms are amply sized, the beds are comfortable, the wifi works well, the staff is friendly and the breakfast buffet offers a generous selection of hot and cold foods. If you book an economy room, I highly recommend you accept their upgrade offer to a higher floor with a view (approximately $12.50 USD per night and well worth it). We did not and regretted it later. If you do not get a room with a view of the city below, check out the meeting room view on floor 9. Gorgeous view, especially if you're lucky enough to catch a sunset. The location is a convenient walking distance to most places of interest in town and the view potential is great but keep in mind this hotel is located up a steep hill from the harbor area and central station.

The view of this hotel was amazing! At least from our room.
The hotel is close to town and really close to the aksla so you can even have a better view.
The staff was friendly and dinner was nice, with breakfast there was to many to choose from.

One of my favorites. Make sure you get a room with a view on the harbor. Price for best breakfast 2016. You won't be able to taste it all in one morning.

The hotel is situated a couple of streets back from the water but, thanks to my room being on the 8th floor, I still had a great view. My standard room was very nice with a decent sized TV, two single beds and an en suite. The shower was excellent and nice toiletries were provided. The bathroom had a heated floor with dedicated thermostat which was lovely in the morning! There's also an easy to use thermostat for the room and the temperature was comfortable throughout my stay. There's a well socked minibar. The real highlight was the floor to ceiling windows across one wall which offered a superb view across Alesund.

The hotel breakfast is superb and one of the best I've had in a long time. The buffet is mind bogglingly varied and all was very good. I didn't try the restaurant in the evening but there's a good selection of excellent restaurants nearby.

This is a great hotel and excellent value for money. We stayed in late March and had an excellent view on 8th floor so the change in the vista when is snowed on the last night was beautiful to see (and photograph).

The staff were very friendly and gave all the help we needed for shopping, arranging local trips and the shuttle to the airport.

The breakfast was amazing, and it was easy to see why the hotel won the "Best Breakfast" award. We have recommended the property to friends and family.
