Good location one step to the sea, close to city center, bus and boat stations. Not so good breakfast, as usual Radisson's on Norway, but quite enough with wide varieties. There is no sauna, what is sad, but you may spend your time in a gym there. Wow sightseens from comfortable, but not so big rooms on a mountains and see surface. Welcoming staff and clearance are on a high level.
Really nice rooms with a wonderful view over the city. Breakfast was good and the service was on top as well
I liked the hotel, have already been there few times before. Always my first choice when in Ålesund. Clean, friendly service, tucked in a quiet spot but very close to all city amenities, and most of all Airport shuttle. Will come back again.
Nice hotel, great location. We arrived about 10 minutes before check-in, and were told they had no queen rooms available, which is what we booked. We said we would get lunch and return. We returned about an hour and 15 minutes later, and waited a while, and were told there were still no rooms, and it would be about 20 minutes to be cleaned. They mentioned something about a large group the night before. We asked them to hold our bags instead, which they did. We walked around Alesund for a couple of hours and returned, now 3 and a half hours after our scheduled check-in time, and were told there were still no "double rooms," that there were 3, and they were cleaning them. We asked what they did have available, and they said twin rooms. We said that would be fine, we can push beds together. We got to our room, which was nice, though missing hand soap. It was also facing a wall. I was hoping we could get a room with a view after having waited, though I didn't ask for it.
Anyway, it is a nice location, and a nice hotel. I am not overwhelmed by the customer service, however.
At check in we were given a room with twin beds even though we had specified that we wanted a queen size bed. We decided to complain, and the receptionist wanted to make good on her mistake by giving us a room with the right size bed and a seaside view. However she didnt know the hotell to well and ended up giving us another room with yet again twin beds and no view. So we had to switch rooms again, took the receptionist an hour to find a suitable room. We were tired after a long day so we just accepted the first one she sugested that had a queen bed, only to realise after a while it didnt have air conditioning. Hotell room/sauna for the price of one, thats a good deal if you plan on loosing some weight overnight. Breakfast was mediocre at best, nothing fancy. I exspected more. Also, who doesnt serve bacon at breakfast on saturdays? The location was good, and although the hotell doesnt offer parking it was easy to find public spots. Would i stay there again? If other options besides my car and park benches are available I would have to say, no I would not.
Lovely place! Nice and clean rooms, good breakfast :)
Great place good service. But snack price totally out of this world. A buck of chips costs 60 kroner!!!!! Totally crazyShould be free when ordering a draft beer at over 100 kroner
Exceptionally friendly staff - every person I interacted with was very helpful. Breakfast is also very good - many choices on the buffet and a few items made to order. It is within walking distance to many restaurants and the airport city center bus stop. The hotel is being renovated - some of the carpets and furnishings are a bit worn, so upgrading is good, but it is a little noisy during the day, not in the evening or too early in the morning. I am sure it will be 5 stars once renovations are done.
Radisson Blu hotels usually very good hotels, and my experience with is great. But I had a bad experience with this particular one.
Staff: The receptionist was rude and didn't even tried help.
Location: good, but no special view. It is close to shops.
Parking: only limited paid public parking.
