Very hotel with character. Warm welcome at the reception. The different rooms at the reception have a lot of charm. Dinner and breakfast were very good. Just a bad point to solve : The Italian staff in the restaurant is not friendly.
The hotel looks really nice. The inside has a lot of art, in my opinion even too much. This makes the hotel which otherwise looks really good a bit messy. The rooms are quite old, which means they are noicy and cold. Don't expect to sleep till 22:00, when most of the guests are in their room. You can hear every single word that they say. On the plus side, the food was really nice. This hotel is like the Eiffel Tower, you have to see it at least ones when you visit the area. I'm glad that I visited the hotel, but I'm also glad I could leave after 1 day.
Not the best beds, but a must see for the original paintings and total entourage. Awesome views. Recommended
Nice location with traditional charme. The interior is oldstyle but not outdated. Most of it has a traditional look but is new.
The menu we had in the evening was delitious. It's worth to give it a try if you can live without all the fancy, modern stuff
The hotel is in a nice location. The rooms are oddly shaped. I had no wifi in the room. The only wifi was in the lobby. The we quality of food and service at dinner was below average. The service is rushed. This is a hotel that caters mainly to bus tours and it shows.
A very special place to stay
Awful dinner, me and my family were very disappointed. The soup was tasteless, the pork was raw and my children threw away the dessert. We will not eat dinner here again. Breakfast was acceptable. The rooms are small and very worn, no TV but had comfortable beds. The neighbors were easily heard so the privacy level was low. Disappointing. The view from the hotel was however fantastic.
Friendly staff. Charming lodge and restaurant. Some of the cabin rooms are sparse and may be intended for skiers.
Elveseter hotel is in a great location within Jotunheimen, fairly close to some of the higher peaks (and hikes). The hotel itself is historic and has a number of artworks and trinkets within the main building and it's grounds. We had opted for a superior room rate at half board. The room was great; spacious, clean and well decorated. More importantly the beds are comfortable! It also felt recently refurbished. Food was average to good. Service was excellent throughout and I really couldn't fault the staff whatsoever. I would happily stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others.
Wow
