Very quirky decor, some might say very eccentric. Great coffee and lovely paninis, served with good portion of side salad.

Very beautifully decorated, hipstery cafe bar with a good selection of drinks and coffee.

Cozy, lay back atmosphere and good music.
    An instant favourite!

This was our absolute favorite cafe/bar/restaurant/pub that we found on our 2 week Scandinavian vacation. The decor can’t be matched. It’s unique and funky. We could have stayed here all morning. They have games you can play as well. The chai latte was fantastic and my husband loved the In Bed with the Enemy drink. Their waffles were delicious too. We got one with ham and blueberry jam and one with goat cheese and raspberry jam and loved them both! If you have to pick one place to stop in Bergen, this should be it!!

The best waffles I have ever eaten. Nice, fresh nd tasty. Totally recommend to try with ham and goat cheese and sweet option with Norwegian brown cheese. Very friendly staff and people in this cafe.

The decor in this place is wacky, zany, and crazy-cool! It's like a museum of pop culture and you may want to spend a little time just walking around, exploring the detail. Beyond that, the coffee is excellent (we had cappuccinos). They also serve alcoholic beverages of various sorts (beer, wine, mixed drinks). They have an extensive selection of vinyl records of many genres at their 'music bar' and one of the employees keeps the music going. When we first arrived, they were playing smooth jazz. I loved that combined with the ambiance of the place. The BarBarrista is located between the funicular and the Hansa buildings on a backstreet; across the street from an antique store. There's a nice little patio out back for guests to enjoy if the weather permits and don't miss the bathrooms downstairs (more zaniness).

Lovely little place we stumbled upon by accident. This is where I first fell in love with Brown Goat Cheese on Waffle. SO GOOD. Had to buy myself a few blocks of cheese at the airport to bring home. The decor inside was hilarious. If you don't go for the food, at least visit for the Frida Kahlo-like interior and sit down and enjoy some nude fat lady painting.

The most bohemian and pastiche of styles café in the whole Norway! You gotta love it!

Nice quirky place, the owners really put a lot of their personalities into it. Pretty popular amongst students and artsy types. Occasionally there are concerts and dj's. There is a huge nude photo of one of the owners, it's not vulgar in any way but caught us by surprise the first time we saw it!

A colourful, fun, funky and cozy coffee shop tucked away behind the main street. The decor is quirky, and decorated with kitschy trinkets which gives it its charm. This place will bring a smile to your face.

I enjoyed the maple and brie waffle and my latte.

Tip: Tap into the free WiFi.
