The room, hotel lobby and bar lived up to expectations! It was a very cool and modern experience and I would recommend staying here when traveling in Amsterdam. The location is also great; it is just a few feet from a Metro stop and only a few stops from Central Station which makes for a quick trip to and from the airport! The front desk was helpful in recommending a great breakfast place just down the street (The Breakfast Club) and in helping us know which areas to visit with a beautifully designed map.

The only complaint I have about this hotel is that we had the do not disturb sign on our door and housekeeping ignored the sign and came into our room anyways. We were only staying for two nights so cleaning wasn't necessary and I would have preferred to put my personal belongs in my suitcase had I known someone would be in our room. It is hotel hospitality 101 to not enter guests' rooms if the do not disturb sign is on the door.

Also, our last night we decided to eat at the hotel and my husband's burger was so raw it was cold.

Setting at Volkshotel is, as usual, superb. I had a great time with good service and a fantastic view over the city. The location is great and easily accessible, even by car. The only minor point of feedback is that the waiter could've asked more frequent if we'd want to drink something. Nevertheless: 4/5 highly recommended.

Nice and trendy hotel. Rooms are generally spacious, but beware not all rooms are the same. Some of the design choices of some rooms are questionable, Linke a glass wall in the toilet (for a double room) on one of the rooms I stayed here. Restaurant upstairs is good with an amazing view of the city and bar downstairs is busy in the evenings.
The metro station is just outside the hotel so as a starting point to visit the city is good.

Nice rooms. Beautiful building. Roof restaurant with 360 view and a terrace as well! Roof jacuzzi :) Night time this restaurant converts to a nice club with underground deep/tech-house vibe. Breakfast was amazing as well - all you can eat for 12 euros? Just take my money :D Highly recommend and will be coming here again!

Very unique, but it's in a fun way. There are some unique rooms that can be really interesting, like the Japanese room with a giant wooden tub in the middle of the room, it's very nice. The vibe is something like a cross between a hostel and a business oriented hotel, there's a lot going on. Very happy with my stay there and would recommend it. Right next to a metro stop, which is also fantastic.

You will feel the energy and the friendliness the moment you enter this hotel. It's very different to all the other places that I've stayed and only wish I've discovered it earlier.

The receptionist Noa was always very helpful and took the time to explain about the features of the hotel. Also the sauna and the outdoor hot tube was one of my favorite.

Definitely recommend all fun loving travelers to check this place out.

Small rooms, but so comfortable. Excellent breakfasts on the roof. Unfortunately I haven't visited sauna, but next time I hope I will. :) Very easy to get to city center by metro which is located just near hotel. Staff is very polite and friendly. Only positive emotions. Price is also pretty good for Amsterdam. Bike renting, working zone, . Well, perfect place to stay in Amsterdam.

Quirky decor. Friendly staff. Great bar and breakfast (the latter with a panoramic terrace view). Well located for metro/trams. Handy map given to guests with tons of useful local info. Will happily stay again in future!

Super fun hotel. Great staff and the place was always hoping with young people in the bar. We got the Ms. big room and it was great. So much fun having the beds hanging from the ceiling. It is about 2 metro stops from downtown, so not much right outside the hotel.

Volkshotel was really good! The room was great and the hotel itself was hip and unique. It's right next to the metro and grocery stores if you don't want the cafe on the ground floor.

A different experience from all the hotels in Europe. Definitely something that merges with the cosmopolitan culture in Amsterdam. The check-in at the bar counter was surprising. There was a sauna and a club in the but we didn't have enough time to make use of these.

The hotel had a great workspace area next to a cafe on the ground floor. Service was friendly and helpful. They provided a handy map of Amsterdam that was interesting to look at as well as having places to eat, shop, and explore nearby. There were really nice views from the restaurant near the top of the hotel. My room was quiet and comfortable and had provided a wonderful place to rest. The location was a bit out of the way of the center, but still near plenty of restaurants and shops. There was a supermarket nearby that was really convenient. I stayed for just one night, but would definitely recommend the hotel.

Like an Ace hotel but it pulls it off much better. Clean rooms, simple but very nice designs. Good coffee and food. Sometimes at night the main areas smell a bit like cheese haha but only because of how many people are eating the delicious 'old cheese'. Good wine and cool events the rooftop hot tub was a highlight even though it was Feb + snowing. Insanely well connected.

We slept with our three kids in one of their family rooms and had a great time. Huge room. Friendly staff. Close to the metro. Kids friendly. Good breakfast. Will definitely stay there when we go again with the kids to Amsterdam.
