A true South African haven in Amsterdam, from the nice samoosas right down to the excellent Malva pudding (and everything in between). Highly recommended for anyone who likes real food and human size portions.
Lovely little Jem. Strange decor should not put you off from sitting and ordering from the creative well executed menu. Offering unique ingredients and combinations. The food is made to order so there is a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. The dishes are beautiful on the plate and pleasing on the palette.
I visited this restaurant three times in three nights during a recent trip to Amsterdam. The food was simply beautiful. The service was very friendly. If you want to visit an unpretentious restaurant, where the staff really care about the service and food they provide for you, give Tjing Tjing a try.
in a quiet back street it was difficult to find- meat was not very good quality. service was friendly but slow.
Been visiting this restaurant for 6 years now, and have always left there with a full stomach and a smile on my face. Friendly, personal service, and good food. Well worth a visit!
