Very fascinating house that I highly recommend visiting while in Utrecht. You need to book the tours online and they get sold out quickly, so I recommend planning ahead if you are only in Utrecht for a day or two. The house is a bit outside the city center, but still easily accessible.

I've seen it just from the outside. For architecture enthusiasts, it is a very nice walk to take from Utrecht centre to get there (maybe 20 mins). This small house means a change in the way of thinking house design. If you want to visit you need to book in advance, the only have small groups guided tour. Ticket is 15.5€

Unique place, you won't find anything like it. It's nice to look around it but to really experience the thought the Rietveld put into it you will have to take a tour. At no point was I bored, every inch of the house is amazing.

This is a very interesting house to visit and definitely a milestone in the development of open plan concepts in the 20th century. I think it shows that this was Rietveld's first house, and there are things about the design that are too fussy and go too far. However the idea of the flexible plan is quite exciting to see. Here are the points that cause me to mark it down a star. 1. The visit format doesn't give you a moment to yourself, there are always quite a few other visitors hanging around and it's hard to take good photos. 2. The audio tour format seems too detailed for a tour like this. If you could explore at your own pace it would work better. I skipped several of the tracks and my wife skipped it almost entirely. 3. It's relatively expensive unless you really want to see the central museum as well. You get much of the same experience from the YouTube video. I paid it happily but I struggled to get my wife to join me at that price. By contrast the cube house in Rotterdam is about a third to a quarter of the price and the visit format there is more flexible. Nevertheless if you enjoy a bit of architecture, this is a must-see.

I went to architecture school in the 1990s, and we learned about this historic design. It was absolutely amazing to see and experience it in person! It's particularly notable for how modern and innovative it was for the time. It is not big at all, but the design has big ideas! We were fortunate, because there was a special exhibit at the local museum covering the architect as well as this project, So we got advance prep before actually touring the house. I recommend leaving plenty of time to stroll around the neighborhood and to enjoy the exterior views of the house.

Sadly we didn't reserve the tour trough the house (I recommend it), but the nice ladies at the reception offered us to see a movie about it. Took a lot of pictures in front of the house.

For modernist lovers, this building is a pleasurable visit. It has been described as the "three-dimensional realization of a Mondrian painting."

To visit, you have to book a tour in advance. And do not show up late for the tour will begin without you. It was intriguing to see the interior rooms maneuvered into one large open space. The tour guide will show you all the nooks and clever cranies of the house. The interior also features the Rietveld chair.
