A wide range of choice and variety, friendly and helpful staff and a nice collection of music items, too.
Gets crowded sometimes.
Very clean place with helpful staff. The store is really big and has a lot of different electronic products (as well as music and movies). It is never busy here which means no line when paying! Close to the Central Station which is convenient.
A place absolutely filled with well priced, up to date electronics. However the staff are so badly mannered and so uninformed about the products there, that I regret ever going in. I guess they're mostly students who have terrible work conditions. But you can feel they hate their job and hate their customers just as much. I'll never buy as much as a battery there again.
The Fame staff is super helpful and has a great sales on almost all the time. If you are after a cd you can get a pretty good bargain. Also 3 halen 2 betalen weeks are pretty awesome. Check it out!
Visited this store on Wed 13 Sep 2017. Amazin range of product. Dealt with a young assistant named Delano. He just went beyond the call of duty! So helpful, patient and determined to get me the item I was looking for. Unfortunately they did not have a device compatible with my tablet but, what an effort he made to make sure all possibilities were explored. 'Thank you' Delano. Will definitely pay this store a visit when I am next in Amsterdam.
They have most of the stuff but not all and not the best customer experiencerecommend to visit Mediamarkt Amsterdam Arena there they have all you ever wanted.
Big shop with a lot of stuff. It depends on the day if people are willing to help. Sometimes they deliver a fantastic services, but to often not. Not a place to buy hifi stuff, but more then ok for standard electronics.
1) Super long waiting time at the service desk, you have to reserve at least 30 minutes if you want to pickup something you bought online; 2) stupid "security" rules: you can't take a normal urban backpack inside, but lady bags of a size are welcome; 3) a quarter of the demo cameras are simply not functioning
Update: yeah, looks like they really have quite high level of theft :-( Hope they find a way to deal with that without punishing good clients
Lots of choices. Reasonable prices. Queues at the checkout can be a pain. But worth it when they have a broad range on offer.
Each store is owned independently and separately from the website, so prices and experiences may vary between locations. Double check if you don't want to inadvertently pay more than you have to. They have a fairly large selection spread across multiple floors. Employees here are generally helpful.
Good selection and prices! I'd give 5 stars if staff would look at my face and try to help when I'm there looking for something (just a few nice and helpful people there, you have to be lucky).
Was here trying to look for Brita water filter, so I went to look for someone to help me. The lady who was on the laptop just curtly said she was busy without even looking at me. I think this is rather rude, and not very service-oriented. The least you could do is look at the person, apologise for not being able to help immediately, and offer to come back x minutes later.
Anyways, I went around on my own and found very limited stock of the filter and almost decided to go home. But I tried one more time, very reluctantly, to the earlier lady since I didn't want to waste my effort going there. To give credit to her, she did help me out a bit and offered some suggestions on getting the item online instead.
Plenty of product to choose from. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cashier however was confused on how to give me a receipt for my purchase. But I was able to score the last fan in the entire store! Which is required for me to fall asleep. So cheers Media Markt!
Great store in the heart of Amsterdam on a unique location. Very close the Centraal Station. Spacious, many products on display and a very special offer once a year: 'tax-free' prices. Maybe not always the cheapest, but no match for their stores in Amsterdam.
They put returned products/devices right back to the shelf. They also have a contract with Microsoft to never offer laptops with Linux, so you won't find a single Dell laptop over there. Workers are always polite and helpful.
