The place is highly ranked among tourist and its location is convenient when coming from the cute little '9 streets' but the cafe is small, a bit overpriced and can get crowded. It's decor is old Dutch style but if you want to go for a short coffee break there are better, perhaps more contemporary, Dutch cafes. Try the CT for example.

Excellent pancakes, nice view of the canal.

Kind of a small place, and service was friendly, but they wouldn't split the check for some reason. We even call it "going dutch".

Quintessential Amsterdam coffee and sandwich place. Small and popular. Always good for a quick cup of good coffee, a hearty breakfast, simple rolls, and tasty apple pie. Simplicity is the keyword here -- hand in hand with quality. Friendly staff. Great place!

Breakfast&Brunch_slightly quieter corner, canal-side, typical Amsterdam breakfast café has omelets and broodjes (Dutch sandwiches), cooked to order and for a fair price. Excellent apple pie.

Cozy place on a busy street corner where you can watch the locals get to work. Nice view of the canal. The omelette Super was extremely filling. I particularly enjoyed the vegetables and cheese! Note: they don't serve espresso here. Not a deal breaker though because the food and friendly staff are worth it!
