Perfect to visit with children or as a couple who likes fantasy. Some of the shows are breathtaking and really make your day magical. Although it's possible to see the whole park in 1day. There is so much to do that you can hardly do every attraction.
Nice theme park for young and old. I go here since i was little and it stays fun. It has a very nice aesthetic and music everywhere. Nice restaurant and food stands everywhere.
In the winter it has nice campfires and people singing life. Its my favourite park and it has the best themed attractions i know. I really recommend going here.
Special parking for larger families and groups (depending on size of car and how many people are inside) very close to the entrance. Staff is very helpful and everybody speaks Dutch and English. Many also speak German and French. The park is old (65 years) and some areas look like it (Fairytale Forrest), but those areas are for toddlers who actually don't care too much about the looks. Newer areas are well maintained and look good. Sadly, all story-based attractions with narrations are Dutch only.
Entrance fees and parking are much cheaper than Phantasialand just a few hours drive away on the German side, so this is the better place if you have many kids to pay for. Besides narrations the stories are also conveyed visually, so it is okay for kids.
Love love love this place. Our first visit -stumbled upon it when researching a trip to Disney. People raved about it and now I am too. A really thoughtful family friendly quaint yet cool theme park. Lovely heritage, really inclusive atmosphere and so much love and care has gone into the place.I really hope to return.
Efteling is like the Disney of Holland. It's an amazing visit. But, it can be a bit dark. Think of the brothers Grimm applied to the displays. Like seeing a display of the evil witch turned into a monster in Cinderella. It's enough to make you gasp. Or Hansel of "Hansel and Gretel" caged and the witch free. The displays are top notch. Just be prepared to accept that the snapshot of the display may not be at the time you had imagined based on your history of the tale. The rides are safe and well maintained. The wait is usually worth the effort. It's 100% worth stopping by to see.
Really fantastic family park. More to do you can handle in a day. Advise is to download the app were waiting times are displayed.
Try to stay at the evening. With all the lights it even more beautiful.
The Efteling is a very large amusement park for all ages. The attractions (like roller coasters) are decorated beautifully - even with their own music themes - and the park is full of trees, plants and flowers. Even the waiting lines and the garbage cans are an attraction :) The park is open all year. It stays open longer in the summer and is decorated nicely in winter.
Check the expected rush in advance on the website and think about what you want to do as it's impossible to visit every attraction in one day. Make sure to install the app so you can quickly spot shorter waiting lines. Consider staying in the Efteling Hotel or one of the parks to visit the park three consecutive days. When staying - or paying a bit extra - you can enter the park half an hour earlier and visit some of the attractions ahead of the crowd.
Water, restaurants, small places to eat and live entertainment are everywhere. As is free wifi and everything a Pokemon player needs. Everything is maintained very well and the park keeps on growing as you can see by following their YouTube channel. Staff is super friendly and may hand out some perks if you interact with them nicely.
What a great day! The park is well maintained, the attractions are overwhelming and the app is very helpful. The lines were ok, longest were about 40 minutes but they tend to shorten by the end of the day. Food variety is very good. One question, which is relevant to all Netherlands' parks - why do you also need to charge for the parking? The entrance fees are high enough.
Shading amusement park with spectacular rides. They include roller coasters (some in the dark), themed rides, water rides, fairy tale section, very nice park layout with plenty of green, good choice of not too overpriced typical Dutch food. However you will spend most of your time on line. Expect waiting times in excess of 40 minutes for the popular riders, even on weekdays with our weather.
This is the best theme park I have been too outside of Disney World. I was particularly impressed by the staff. Excellent customer service and all spoke English extremely well. Particularly impressed with the food which compared to British theme parks was amazing and great value for money. No need to pack sandwiches!!
Hidden gem. This place really deserves to be visited. Everything is very well made and has something for all ages and tastes. This is just like Disney but without the name behind it.
If you are in the Netherlands you should definitely go there.
Prices are OK for what it offer. Restaurants inside have really affordable prices and good quality.
Oh and the park is open 365 days a year.
If you want to visit you should plan at least 2 days.
This park is a must visit, especially if you have children! It's my all time favourite theme park in the world. No park has this warm authentic fantastic atmosphere. I've come here at least once a year since I was a child and with every visit it's more enchanting. I recommend an extended visit (a couple of days) with a stay at the Efteling hotel. It's not cheap but it's a trip you won't forget: cosy rooms, great food, the whole Efteling experience! Oh, and save some extra cash to buy the Efteling CD or Dream Flight perfume. You HAVE to take a souvenir home to be able to survive until your next visit.
I had never heard of this themepark until the wife told me the name on the day we were driving there. Initially we drove into via the hotel entrance, which are stunning in their own right and worth considering on our next visit. After being given directions for the main entrance, parked the car and marvelled at the beauty of the spiked wooden structure as you walk towards the park.
If you can, pay for your parking ticket before carrying on. Also, you can use the printed map, or the preferred mobile app, which provides your accurate GPS location and wait times for each attraction.
Overall I was impressed with the level of detail around the park, especially in the queues. Do take some form of entertainment during waiting, such as music or a video game. I did purchase the photo package, which for €30 will give you 6 ride photos (available as a magnet, key chain or large print), plus a digital download code for each photo.
The food served, especially the pastry items are very appetising. The novel 'snack vending' booths are something I've never seen before, but make perfect sense and would be very handy back home in the UK.
Having recently visited Disneyland Paris, I would recommend Efteling as a more fulfilling alternative. It has rides for the thrill seekers and less queues for the children attractions.
I love this place!!! Hands-down one of the best family oriented amusement parks ever created. For me, as an American, it's nice to see a departure from Disney-everything. The Efteling has unique attractions based off of very old Dutch children's tales.
Great place to visit. Friendly and very helpful staff. A true theme park as the rides genuinely follow a theme. Rides and activities for all the family from young to those wishing still to be young. Does not suffer from the over commercialisation of others like Disney Land. Great day out and good value for money. You have got to make time for the fairly tail forest.
