Nice Turkish bar, with great food. The fish soup was excellent and also the others. Not over priced.
This is a solid place, with some hits (the Persian lamb stew) and some misses (the Oasis dessert). The decor is something out of Turkey/Morocco and the bathroom tiles are worth the visit. I think the spice level could have been amped up a bit and the hummus was a bit dense for my taste.
Great atmosphere here! Portions are HUGE! My boyfriend and I shared a starter platter and a main course platter..there was so much food. Would recommend just getting one course. Staff are friendly and the decor of the place is really funky.
I felt like taking a chance. The waitress, Kesha, chose my appetizer, main course, and drinks for me. Everything was top notch and I only spent 30 euro for quite a great meal. I'll be back for more.
This is the second time i have been to this place and i was not disappointed this time we well. First of all, the service is excellent and quick. You dont have to wait for your food for long. The atmosphere is so cozy that you should make a reservation before going there, specially on Friday nights, else it will be a little difficult finding a nice place to sit. Food is exceptionally good and comes in large portions, so if someone who has not been there should try out one dish at a time (else you might end up taking the food back home due to the servings of large portions). The staff is extremely helpful and always happy to help, which gives Bazar a unique dining experience!!
Loved it, had an amazing experience there.
Just a little background story. Bazaar is an old mosque turned into a restaurant with middle Eastern food. Food's great, probably a little westernized but lovely. You get lots and lost of food so I'd recommend only taking one course meal.
Enjoy!
Great location right in the "Pijp" area, former Church turned into a colorful spectacle. You can have the daily dish for 8,5 (€) and can expect a fulfilling meal. Not rated 5 stars as the place turned a bit commercial.
Great for groups (be sure to make a reservation) and all the meat is halal.
We ventured off to this restaurant because we love Mediterranean and Arabic style food. Being from New York and of Syrian descent, we have experienced and greatly enjoy all styles of Mediterranean cuisine. Unfortunately this was the wrong choice. While the atmosphere was entertaining, the food was bland, an oxymoron for Arabic cuisine, the service painfully inattentive, and the bathroom were the filthiest I experienced since our arrival in Amsterdam. We ordered the humus, grape leaves, and stewed lamb: terrible, terrible, and most terrible. Save your time and money and go someplace else.
Great place for North African / Middle Eastern food. Beautiful place, it's a reformed mosque. If you want authentic ethnic food, this is not the best place to go to, it's adapted to local tastes, a bit commercial. However, this also means that it's an easy choice to invite people to, it's to the taste of most.
By Amsterdam standards it's a huge place with lively atmosphere and colourful interior. Decent food, good value and fast service. Can be busy in the evenings so you might have to wait to get a table.
Food was great. Very flavorful and tasty. The main menu doesn't start until after 4 or 430 so we were limited in our options. Staff was nice but not very attentive for as slow as the place was.
Really great place! Big portions and cheap prices. The atmosphere is friendly and warm, people are great. The baklava is out of this world. Super nice!!!
Really great venue. Food was standard but I didn't order anyway that was going to blow we away. Good value too.
Only sticking point - they charge for tap water (I think by the glass).
