Do you want to see a lot of different monkeys? Than this is the place to go! The most fun thing is that some species walk freely in this park. The employees give a lot of information so just ask.
Lovely theme park with some free roaming monkey's. The best time to visit is off holiday season and not during the weekend. Monkey's can come over and actually sit on you or on your babie stroller. It's actually great fun to meet the little monkey's in person. There are bags available that the monkey's won't be able to open, since they are super curious and will take anything they can get their tiny hands on! :D
Fun place to visit with kids. Some monkeys roam free though zones in the park, which is a fun experience. Impressive collection of well cared of monkeys and apes.
Not really a fan of animals in captivity but the enclosures appear well thought out. Plenty of interactivity with the smaller animals, fortunately not with the Gorillas! Oh yes and my kids had a fabulous day here too!
Although one of the boys was lightly bitten by a squirrel monkey I do recommend this lovely park. It is big and extensive, with a variety of activities. One question, which is relevant to all Netherlands' parks - why do you also need to charge for the parking? The entrance fees are high enough
Fun for young and old! They have several species in the park and in many areas there are monkeys freely roaming who might like to jump in you to see if you have anything in your pockets. Nice playground in the middle for the kids. Be aware that it is a longer walk from the parking lot to the entrance.
I love it how a lot of the monkeys are running wild. You don't only see them behind bars or glass but they can actually stand in front of you without anything in between. And the little monkeys are not afraid to jump onto the people (if you are patient enough), making it one of the most fun attractions of the zoo.
Clean and tidy zoo that offers mostly monkey's and great apes. The small one's roam around freely (but you are not allowed to attract their attention or touch them), the big one's live in their private surrounding.
Signs and explanation in zoo are written in English and Dutch.
Great for kids.
very nice place to just get away from it. also good for kids. you can just let them explore on their own. its very safe.
i especially like the season pass which is only 10 euros more and then you can come several times and get discounts for friends
Great park! Very nice for people of all ages. Definitely worth visiting.
Not only are the primate exhibits fantastic, but the network of trails through the forests are beautiful and quiet. A great place just outside Apeldoorn to get into the wild.
Very nice zoo that specialises in monkeys and apes. Great enclosures and beautiful area, also around the zoo. Educational for children and fun for adults as well. Seeing some of the monkeys roam around freely is very exciting.
Not your average zoo. The best part is experiencing and engaging with free roaming squirrel monkeys! Loved the educational, fun walk looking at the various types of monkeys. Beautiful park and great place to bring children. Would have liked to proper care and respect for animals, as many visitors were using flash directly in the face of the orangutans behind glass and some children inappropriately screaming and chasing free roaming birds or monkeys.
De Apelheul is a very fun 'zoo' which a nice variety of monkeys and apes. The landscaping is lovely and I would probably still have enjoyed the park even if there hadn't been any animals to look at. The only downside to our visit was that it was extremely busy. Too crowded to really walk around comfortably. Be sure to check their website where you can see how busy they expect certain dates to be.
