$160 was stolen from my backpack in my room, and Oliver (the owner) refused to help me in any way. He refused to take any responsibility or help me resolve the issue, he wouldn't talk to the workers, volunteers or other guests. It felt like he was laughing in my face.
There was also no bathroom, only a hose attached to a stick in an open area outside, and the toilet was right next to it, with no walls around it whatsoever. Everyone in the hostel could enjoy your bathroom breaks along with you.
They provide no drinkable water, so you have to go down to the shop to buy your own and pray it won't get stolen from the communal fridge.
The room hadn't been cleaned for days and my sheets hadn't been changed before I was assigned a bed, there were dead cockroaches and garbage from other visitors on the floor and the beds.
They charged me $10 for one night, which is the same price the other hostels in the area charge for far better service.response / report this review -

Absolutely Beautiful spot but they are forgetting the basics in pursuit of building a new bar. The kitchen was really small and continuosly filthy. As were the bathrooms, and the WiFi didn't work all week, despite the typical response that it would be fixed 'mañana'. But mañana never came. If they spent a week fixing some doors, fitting a few new cleanable units in the kitchen (and replacing the centuries old pots and pans), and rearranging the manky outside sink area it might turn out ok. Alas they seem disinterested in the pursuit of more dosh. But either way it wouldn't change the water quality. It's as if they suck it up from the sea and mix some sulphur in for good measure.

Best view in town. Friendly staff. Perfect for surfers and laid back travelers. Kitchen was nice enough with most necessary cooking items. You'll probably need to buy seasoning and potentially oil. Fridge went out on second day.
Main downfall was the dorms ($10) are filled with bed bugs, water tended to run out once the dorms were full. Though I couldn't give up the relaxed vibe and good people so i slept 2/3 nights in the hammocks outside.
Overall great spot for surfers to take the 50min walk to the Colorado. Also to watch the waves. Be sure to check your bed for some unwanted blood sucking friends.response / report this review -

Like everyone says view and waves are good, rooms are over priced $10 for dorm $24 for private, no drinking water or tap water to shower or brush teeth, fridge didnt work in the kitchen..all in all theres so many great places on the coast with great surf and comfortable place to stay this was not one of them

Unbeatable location, whether you surf or not. For surf, you'll be in the water at playa Amarillo within 5 minutes from your room, or the amazing playa Colorado is a pleasant 30 min walk.
Great communal atmosphere and chill out area with awesome view.
If you are looking for a really comfortable dorm, look elsewhere, but hey, your not here to lie in your roomresponse / report this review -
