I had a surf lesson with Pedro this morning. I have had surf lessons with at least 5 different instructors in the past 2 weeks in Nicaragua. Pedro taught me more in one session than all of the other lessons I’ve had combined. First of all, he asked me a lot of questions so he knew exactly what I thought my strengths and weaknesses were. He inquired about how much experience I had surfing and where I had surfed previously. He graciously took the time to answer all of my questions and he even made sure I fully understood his answers. Finally, Pedro gave me some additional practical information that was specific to the surf conditions today. I give Pedro 10 stars out of 5! His instruction surpassed all of my expectations and I feel very fortunate for the opportunity to have Pedro as a surf instructor!!!

Everyone at Good Times Surf Shop has provided outstanding customer service. I highly recommend Pedro and Good Times in San Juan del Sur Nicaragua!!!!

    THANK YOU!!!

I've been traveling to Nicaragua over the past ten years and for the most part to San Juan Del Sur. I love to surf and if you do too, you should be fully aware of the high cost off flying your board(s). Saying that, you also know that surfing in Central and South America can be challenging, especially when looking for a place that provides quality service. Surfboards, transportation, and friendly service are sometimes difficult to locate. However, not in San Juan Del Sur. , Good Times Surf Shop is just that place!! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help at every turn. They not only have plenty of boards to choose from, they offer lessons, transportation to and from local beaches, and have a satellite shop set up at Hermosa Beach.. Regardless of your skill level, beginner, novice or expert Good Times is the only surf shop in town!! They work hard at bringing stoke to your life!

My buddy who frequents Nicaragua, told me to check this place out for my latest surf expedition. Glad I checked it out. Dave hooked it up and was super knowledgeable about some great places to hit up while I was down there. Definitely go see Dave if you need to grab a new stick or at least talk to a really down to earth guy.

Good Times Surf Shop is the go to surf shop in San Juan Del Sur! Nestor took great care of us. He got my son set up on his first Boogie Board and also hooked me up with a great long term SUP rental, as we were in SJDS for 20 days. Highly recommend these guys for all surfing needs, both in rentals and purchasing new.

We surfed at Playa Hermosa with Donovan and David and totally loved our experience. This was our first time surfing and Donovan's guidance made it easy to get up on our first try! Totally recommend Good Times Surf Shop :)

Surf lessons definetely not recommended! The surf lesson is supposed to last 1:30h but took only 0:45. One surf teacher spoke English, his instructions were very vage. The other one only spoke Spanish, I speak Spanish too but not well enough to understand all instructions. All in all the instructors cared more about drinking beer and smoking on the beach bar with their friends instead of teaching. Not worth the money!

Not overly impressed with the surf shop. The staff not very friendly, the whole setup is very unprofessional (guy was drinking a beer at 9:00 in the morning), Very overpriced. Would not recommend!

Staff are friendly and helpful. Probably the best selection of boards, accessories and surf wear in town. The prices are around what you would pay in the US. But that is to be expected in this area.

Tried to claim the classic, "Pay for these dings that they purposefully verlooked before renting them to us." Walked away because this isn't my first rodeo. It ended there.

Great place to go for lessons in town. They have the local guys that have surfed for years run their operation and lessons. You get get everything you need here. Lessons, boards, and tenasfers.

Dont even waste your time at the other surf shops. Just a bunch of ass clowns who rip you off. This place is a little rough around the edges, as is the owner, but it's the only legit surf shop in town.

Good Surf Shop. The price is the same everywhere, so I did not find them to be more or less expensive. They have the best selection of boards, which is still not a lot. The guys here are real surfers, give good lessons, and won't rip you off. The owner / manager may not be super 'friendly', but after talking to him, its because he has to deal with people that steal boards etc and I am sure he would rather be surfing. The guys that work with him are great, they will take you where you need to go for the standard price, and they will either hang with you, or be there to pick you up when they say they will. Overall, good shop.

These guys are lots of fun to surf with. Also they have everything you need and won't rip you off. The only people I paddle out with in SJDS!

This was an amazing day!! My wife and I took surf lessons here and it was definitely the best bang for the buck. $30 for a private surf lesson in English including the trip to a private beach in the jungle. I don't think you can beat that. We will be back!!!
