The museum is centrally located and is surprising large (spread across two buildings) for a small town like Leon. Collections are quite various and the building is very pretty with water fountains in most of the rooms to keep the temperature cool. Unfortunately , photos are not permitted in the museum.

The collection of modern Latin American and old world antique work is interesting and well displayed in beautiful surroundings. Many rooms have binders that give background for the individual paintings. Well worth the cost of admission.

Seriously amazing museum! It's okay if you don't speak Spanish, and you get to choose how much to donate on Sundays (rather than paying an admission fee).

Really beautiful collection of Latin American art here. A nice treat in this area of the world. It won't rival the galleries of major global cities obviously, but it's definitely worth the time to look. Some vibrant and interesting works here-- and booklets to describe the paintings.

This is a must see while in Leon. A number of reviews talk about a modern art museum, so I wonder if they did not know to also go across the street, where there is a second large building with art from the 16th and 17th century painted by artists from many countries. There is also pottery dating back to 2000 AD. Expect to spend at least an hour here, we spent two hours as the museum is fantastic. Price for Foreigners is $104 Cord

This museum really expanded my understanding of Nicaragua. Anyone who appreciates modern art will appreciate the quality, diversity and creativity of the works displayed here. The buildings is gorgeous as well. I wasn't expecting this experience when I went here. I HIGHLY recommend it.

If you like modern art it's a great place. I'm not that much into it and the museum is not offering much to get into it.
So it was a kind of boring for me. If you like modern art it's for sure a great place.

Brilliant art gallery in beautiful setting, do visit, I think you will love it, I did. I went with no expectations as I have no knowledge of Central American artists and was completely blown away by how fantastic some of the work was.
