Hygiene matters, cleanliness, better toilets can be provided for these students.

Nonetheless malabor is such a lively place with loads of activities going on, from fellowships to concerts.

Malabor is the buzzing place to be, always busy with activities. Constant light and water with additional free WiFi for students to use. Nice restaurants and stores.

This is the hostel for the male students of the university of calabar.Its consists of five halls,hall 4,5 and annex,hall 6 and scholarship hostel.It has a mini market within the hostel for the easy provision of day to day needs of male students.It has a cafeteria,fitness and exercise room,students open room,enough quantity of land for sports such as football, and there are churches very close to the hostel and a mosque too for religious purposes

University of Calabar Male hostel gives me so much nostalgia to review because I schooled here. First of all the security in this environment is second to none. The hostel is of close proximity to the library and science (NSLT) complex, there’s also a church close by. There are cleaners that clean up the hostel regularly and other ad-hoc staff. There’s also a back gate nearby for easy accessibility into town.

Close proximity to school refectory, located close to the school cathedral, lecture venues and a football mini-bow behind, staff quarters, a small market, local shopping centers within it, barbing salons, tailor shops, canteens, love garden and that's about the only positives things to say about it. It is a mess and unconducive group of 3 separate hostels blocks for the male students and 2 for the female students(quarters), small tight rooms, poor living conditions and ventilation (actually has a resemblance to a prison yard), it is that bad, over-crowded, with leaky soak aways and gutters, smelly environs, stagnant water, tall grasses that encourages breeding for mosquitoes, poor lighting conditions and availability of power, poor security, not fit for living, difficult to get an accommodation despite it's unpleasantness, stealing, killings, etc,, let me stop here, i stayed in this hostel for 4years (halls 4,5,6), so i have proper experience, though the school management has in recent times tried to renovate and repair a lot of the deficiencies, but nothing substantial, because of the overpopulation, i.e few amenities for a large number of occupants, so its stretched thin and overwhelmed.

Unical hostel is a domicile were there is utmost security. Virtually every thing that pertains to human needs are provided in malabor Am so much in love with the environment There is more than u could ever imagine The hostel fee is cheaper compare to living off campus Where there is numerous activities of hooligans and rubbing accentuated in the outskirt of calabar South. There is more to be enjoyed in the Almighty Republic of malabor. Am proud to be a malabite Greatess na we d hia If u see ur brother chop, carry spoon soften.. Accommodation here is relatively cheaper, access to water and electricity, conducive environment but the state of the toilet and bathroom is in slightly bad condition due to mismanagement by male students residing in the hostel.

The completion of the school's cafeteria is no where in sight, but there are varieties of restaurants around the hostel environment one could choose from at a budget-friendly rate.
