Even before I began my personal trips to Ikoyi and the Island,, I frequently hear of this place especially when it comes to describing a route or a place closer. It's interesting of the most popular and biggest hotels in Ikoyi. A mere observing the security just before I go in is something to behold. A perfect car park and from pictures I've seen, high class standard rooms are available as well.

Southern Sun is a beautiful hotel sprawled at the centre of Ikoyi.

At the gate, pleasant security officers check your vehicle and direct you to the outdoor car park.

The lobby staff are also pleasant and cheerful. For non resident guests, the bar downstairs serves an assortment of drinks. Their chicken wings are particularly tasty!

The bar upstairs is more private and befitting more low-key interactions. All in all, above average customer service.

First, I wasn't sure how long my trip would be or if I'd be able to check-in on time and had so much on my mind, but the front desk staff was such a big help, very informed, and I was able to not worry so much. Had a nice breakfast, everything was clean. The rooms were spacious. Everything was perfect and great, just amazing for the price we paid. I would come back and recommend it to anybody. Super friendly, excellent customer service throughout my stay.

I really enjoy buffet in Southern Sun which is one of the best in Nigeria but not really their breakfast. I wish they had more variety different food especially bread and cheese.
The ambience of the restaurant is nice and I will strongly recommend this restaurant for a Sunday brunch.

I have been privileged to have entered the southern sun Hotel Ikoyi, Lagos Nigeria on account of a friend who invited me for a chat. Starting from the access point everything seemed under the control, after you have gained entrance into the premises the rest is simple. You can locate wherever you are going with the help of front desk officers. And if you walk in once, next time you are there, you would not find it difficult. From the access control the ambiences you enter will blow your mind, the soft music inside will make you want more. It is a great place.

Great breakfast buffet. Sunday lunch buffet was amazing! It includes copious amounts of free champagne served in flutes, all inclusive of the fixed price. Rooms are average, and a bit dated, but clean. Will definitely return again.

It was dirty. Even though the room was changed it was the same damp and dingy feel. I checked in at 2pm and waited about 20mins for a room change. Before 3 pm I went to the desk to say I would be staying there anymore . the lady charged me 50% of my stay .she said since I sat on the bed while deciding whether or not I wanted to stay she had to charge me for 50% of the fee I was so eager to leave I just acquiesced . won't be staying there again . no thank you

The presentation of the room was OK and the bathroom is very clean. The ambiance was very relaxing. I don't think I've slept that deep in a while. The room service was relatively quick.

The place is good to be, fantastic atmosphere, very clean environment, good service delivery, when you are their toilet, you are hear a cool music that will make you comfortable while you are doing your thing. I love the place.

There's a WIDE selection to choose from at 10 000 excluding drinks. Best enjoyed with friends :-)

I used Southern Sun for to host some guests in July. We all loved the experience. The good is really good and the service isn't bad at all. The rooms are decent and very neat. The beds are very comfy too. Thumbs up.

It's a small hotel. Getting a bit old. But the service is great. Great team here and great amenities. The swimming pool can get a bit congested. The food selection for the buffet is always great though. The gym is also well equipped.

It was a wonderful experience. The dinner buffet is very nice. Also a nice and relaxing environment. However the dinning area had problems with the air conditioning and the music was non existent and so even when there was a slow down in conversation there was no music to fill the silent gaps.

Sunday buffet used to be very good with quality meals served. Now it's more like they don't care about their customers and just serve whatever they please. Wasn't a pleasant experience

Friendly staff. Clean rooms, the smell of the bed is fresh.. Smells like new bed sheets. Great stuff. Plus I got the 7th floor. The kiddies had so much fun
