Can be better than it is now. A lot of construction and renovations are ongoing at the airport. I believe the standard is being raised. There are more sanity around the airport now than my last visit. Workers are now more friendly and demand for gratification has drastically reduce. Passengers are no longer force to bring out the content of their Luggages in other to extort them. There is even a visa on arrival desks now without much ado. Things are getting better.

International airport in Lagos, Nigeria. The airport is currently being renovated and we are hopeful that it would be at or with its contemporaries.

There is a multi level car park that keeps the aiport area sane and traffic free. Commuters are advised to utilize this more. Trolley service is not free. There are cash machines at various spots in the airport.

Staff are always eager to help. The immigration process is efficient.

Beware of touts and keep a close eye on your luggage.

This is arguably the busiest airport in Nigeria for both arriving and departing flights. It has a state of the art which is also multilevel parking lot. There are more than enough security personnel on standby to ensure safety of every life and property. Any unauthorised parking of a car attracts N50,000.00 as penalty.

If you want to sum up Nigeria failed systems, visit Murtala Muhammed International Airport. Nothing works: Bribery, corruption, failed amenities, congestion, ghost staff, light fingered staff openly demanding money from passengers, touts, diverse men and women in uniforms..the list is endless. I also witnessed two power failures before boarding! I first visited the airport in 1979 when it was first opened and it has been in a mess shortly after that. Be prepared to be disappointed.

If I had a choice between using this airport for departure or taking a Hogwarts broomstickI’d choose the broomstick! Got held up in horrible traffic on the way to airport which resulted in me being an hour before departure. Counter closed at that time and got the run around on what to do. Finally directed upstairs for British Airlines and was told I could book another flight or take current flight but leave my luggage. Smdh, settled that issue and left luggage with my husband. Attendant writes out a manual ticket in which checkpoint officer refuses. Sir, where tf will I write a manual ticket for myself?! He has no phone so we have to go back upstairs to get attendant to verify. Go through 3 checkpoints and then asked if I had cashyou know so I could tip the staff for doing THEIR job! Get to gate and their still boardingluggage still left behind! Just know that the safest place is outside the airport

Very interesting airport with enough activities to feast your eyes on for a lifetime. The airport has reached its peak and it's time to renovate or rebuild to accommodate the ever growing human traffic it hosts. The airport is quite basic and clearly defined into a departure area/lounge and arrival area. The check-in area also accommodates several vendors including flight agents, restaurants, etc. I highly recommend the First Lounge. Not a big fan of their food but it's a good waiting area. There is no proper waiting lounge for the relatives or other acquaintances of arriving passengers at this airport.

Large airport, beware a lot of traffic going in and out of this airport so keep a safe time. Decent over all however feels very warm, toilet facilities are okay but could be better. Wheelchair accessible. A major improvement is a massive 4-5 floor car park which makes it much more organized. Lots of eateries, shopping kiosks and lounges in here.

There has been great improvement in the airport and it operatives. There is much decorum and more spacious. Though the buzzing and the hustling of Lagos life still visible in the airport. Air peace and Arik occupies different building different from other local airlines. These two has the highest in tariffs. The management of the airport deserves a kudos for a job well done. However much improvement is still needed to meet up

Chaotic airport. I've been there once and hopefully NEVER AGAIN. Inmigration officers claimed that I was carrying drugs (never did drugs in my life, won''t do it in NG lol) and they were waiting for a bribe. Sadly (for them) I was coming back to Europe and did not have a single coin left in my pocket. Reluctantly, they left me go through the control but I already was imaging how my life would be in a Nigeria prison.
Jokes apart, the constant feeling of being unsafe and to look out constantly at each and every single individual (they would "invent" that your vaccination card is fake, that your luggage is "strange", etc) made me smile when I was in my Lufthansa flight back to Frankfurt. Although I enjoyed my visit to Lagos and I've met wonderful people over there, I couldn't avoid the smile and the feeling of getting relaxed once the airplane departed. Worst Airport I've ever been. Fact.

Quite an old airport Long processes allowing touting at every turn with the mentality of "what do you have for us" attitude Though the check-in process is a lot easier now but needs real IT and automation to monitor entry and exit of passengers Toilet needs to worked uponA whole lot of overhauling is needed everywhere buh still a place to behold shaa

Pretty chaotic but has improved over the years. Lounge (star alliance) pretty crappy. In general there is not much to see/shop at this airport. Immigration takes pretty long and shoes need to be re.oved for security which forces you to walk on the dirty floor with barefeet or socks

Long processes.
Too busy, no clear order to things unless you know what you are doing.
There's usually vehicular and human traffic so make sure to set off with ample time to spare.

Not good enough, too much security checks right from the entrance to the plane, customs officials ask for money and take food stuff from people, not enough air conditioners, over priced food and snacks, power outages, some times there may not be power in some parts of the airport slow WiFi (least let there be more networks like Airtel), faulty lights, no where to sit down at the entrance u have to wait outside, on arrival is always discouraging always asking yourself why you came back, conveyor belts are broken, not well kept.
But I like the two new entrances at the two ends of the airport that's good making feel a bit happy before you fill the immigration slip that am not sure what it's used for.

Chaotic as ever. Many touts poised to take advantage of the vulnerable traveller. Officials always soliciting gratification from travellers passing through customs clearance. It's a nightmare going through the check-in process.

I always don't enjoy coming back to the country and mostly because I have to go through the lowly maintained airport.
If coming here, be sure to arrive early - avoid the chaos of needing to rush. Make sure you are in a happy mood - stay pleasant no matter what (the stress of getting angry or upset doesn't help). And most importantly be comfortably dressed - seating or waiting lounges are hardly enough for the influx.
Just as with any open environment, be security conscious

Terrible airport. Horrible luggage claim. Hot as Satan's armpit. Overcrowded. Smelly. Lots of delays. Horrible, horrible traffic and congested roads. Think of what can go wrong in an airport and it's here.
