This edifice is located in the city of Uyo, in the famous Udo Udoma Avenue. The museum has a notable collection of historic pictures and it was an inspiration of Arc Victor Attah the past Governor of Akwa Ibom state. It was commission by Arc (Obong) Victor Attah on Tuesday, 22nd May 2007.
It’s the most assessable location, about 10 kilometers to the airport.
The museum not only portrays the long history of the Akwa Ibom, but also the survival of religious traditions.
The museum is located in a serene environment, surrounding by green shrubs and trees. Standing in front of the museum glass house one can feel the calmness of the vegetation and the conduciveness of the environment.
There is a little pound just before the museum about 200m. The museum environment is surrounded by well-known structures. From one entrance you will see the CBN building and the Union Bank of Nigeria, all located at the Udo Udoma banking layout.
On the other side behind the museum you find the famous Nsikan Edward Avenue, where the Full Life Church and Insight Bible Church is located. Also located close the premises of the museum, is the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly.
This is an open park with 90 percent grass, trees and vegetation! It's a nice place to hang out with friends and family members and even organize picnics. Most people use the open field for sports and football. There's a building in the center of the park for photo exhibition and corporate events. Nice place you must visit, I give it 3star.
It is a place where the arts and sculpture of different places in Akwa Ibom are kept.
Uyo town is beautiful and if you are looking for site seeing ibibio museum is an option
Fun place to relax with the family and appreciate nature. Lots of open space to either play football or cycle or even exercise. Good for picnics and get togethers or even barbecue some fish or meat with friends and family at the weekend.
Lots of space to park and lots of trees providing fresh breeze and shade.
Fun to play around
It's actually a good place to sit out
Nice place to be, a reserved environment with variety of trees, oasis and a lot of ancient Ibibio artifacts.
It's a place to cool off with its lush green lawns and the museum educates one about the heroes of the ibibio nation! Did I add that its the preferred destination for fitness enthusiasts in and around Uyo environs.
It's fantastic, its really historical in content, bring joy to the people of akwa ibom
The park around the museum is beautiful. I had a good time relaxing and reminiscing in this park when I visited Uyo
Has a brief history of the Ibibio Union. It is underutilised. The authorities seem not to care much about the place.
