Delicious German meals. Well priced. Loved the Sülze with fried potatoes. Best I've ever tasted.
Pretty OK for souvenirs but all seem to stock the same items. Head on down to Peter's Antiques if you want original Namibian products. Still legal at the time of writing to take historic handmade goods out of the country.
Very unwelcoming vibe - seems to cater exclusively for large German tour groups who book the entire restaurant out in advance. Staff were unhelpful and appeared only interested in serving German clientele. I would recommend dining elsewhere for a more authentic Namibian experience.
We called to ask if we needed a reservation for dinner and was told "No, just be here when we open".
Just to find out the next day when we showed up that it was fully booked.
We are very dissapointed as this is one of the dinners we were looking forward too on our trip to Namibia.
Good service and great food
Excellent pork knuckle and service. Worth the wait at the bar! Make sure to book in advance as the restaurant fills up quickly and doesnt have a large amount of seating.
Service was excellent. Food delicious. Beer was ice cold.
Great German atmosphere and food. Will definitely go again.
Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, plenty of beer. Service was also good! Definitely have at least one meal here if you're in Swakop for a few days
German style menu, good food, efficient service.
We visited on the 20th November 2017, and we were more than a little disappointed. The food and drinks were OK, if a little pricey. But the wait staff was a little surly, not sure if a smile would have damaged her face. The restaurant was so hot that they could have brought your food to the table raw and it would have cooked while you watched. A request to turn on the air con was met with reluctant compliance for a very short time. Needless to say we didn't dally but left as soon as we could. Clearly a table of seven customers are not important enough to keep them happy.
Must be the best place to go for a really good German feast when you visit Swakopmund. The food is great. The beer is always cold and you won't find a more festive place in town than at the Brauhuas.
OK food. Good beer. Adequate service. Fun atmosphere.
I have not enjoyed a good steak like a did here in a long time. Even the beer was excellent. Our waiter Werner was quite a waiter. Ask for him when you visit the place
A bit of German in the middle of Africa. Great food.
Lekker German food and a boot full of beerlove this place for a quick lunch.
The best bar/restaurant in town with excellent German food and a good selection of local and imported beers.
Book in advance as it's usually full of locals and visiting tourists.
Very nice German restaurant with good food. If you've never had a glass boot filled with beer before, this is the place to go!
Truly authentic German ecperience. Ons cannot visit Swakopmund and miss out on a "Das boot" of beer!
Wouldn't have expected a full on German beerhouse in a small African coastal town, but that's part of its charm. Caters for tour groups, but still managed friendly staff and customers and the food was good.
Good food. Authentic snd unique German style beer house.
Nice vibe good food.
Great German fare and great atmosphere
Good food vibey atmosphere
If you want to gain weight, go there. Food is great, massive and authentic. I am German, I know what I am talking about.
The Best beer and food in the center of town , been there a few times now and the staff is great. A nice pub like atmosphere. Be sure to try a "boot" !!
