Not a very warm welcome on arrival, staff seemed more interested in their own conversations and their mobile phones than welcoming a paying guest.
Cleanliness is also underwhelming and rather don't buy the food
Location is brilliant, but without effort from their staff the place isn't reaching it's potential.
I stayed at Mozambeats Motel which is faaaaar better in terms of service, friendliness, cleanliness and general good vibes. Highly recommend staying there instead of this place which clearly is only surviving because of its reputation (not sure why) among visitors.

Didn't stay here but went for dinner one night and the food was terrible. I spent 5 weeks travelling across Africa and this was probably the worst meal I had.

Nice place to be in a big group of friends, but you have to take all your Staff from your house, there's nothing in the camp side even freezer :(

Location is great service needs to be improved .Staff failed to communicate and answers the general questions had to call the manager who could not give us any answers. Night reception\barman was one person who delivers great service and they recommended tours too .

This is a copy paste of a review that I wrote on TripAdvisor:

"The location of Fatima's Nest in Tofo is fantastic. Right on the beach. That's the only thing going for it.

A group of us went for a dorm with the self-catering option. Self-catering was next to impossible as the facilities were lacking/unusable. Oddly the fridge shelf that I put take-away on even collapsed.

    List of problems:
    -Dorm was dirty
-There was no doorhandle for the dorm door was broken (and the door couldn't close properly in any case)
    -There was no hot water
-No working plug points in our dorm
-No toilet paper (like ever, even after we complained)
    -Toilets clogged
    -Unfriendly staff

We had two other hiccups. We had organised a tour of Inhamane through one of the staff. The guide knew nothing of the town and ended the tour early without us completing the promised itinerary.

The second hiccup involved payment and is utterly bizarre. We tried to pay the whole amount at the beginning of our stay. For some reason the dude wouldn't accept the money for the final night of the stay. We insisted that we owed more and were told that this was some sort of special.

When we tried to leave on our final day the staff wouldn't let us leave as we hadn't paid for the final day. Turns out that the special didn't exist. In a way is was symbolic for our interaction with the staff which I characterise as bumbling, contradictory and kind of irksome.

It's disappointing as the place is affordable and has a great heritage."

We had a beautiful time at Fatimas. It offers everything you need in Tofo with a very fair priced camping.

It's at the beach which is nice but it's quite run down. Would need a renovation. Fatimas bus is leaving there for Maputo everyday at 4pm. Which is why I took my last night there. You can stay at the dorm for about 500MT. You will need your own sleeping bag!

It literally takes 40 minutes to get a pizza, and that's when the restaurant is not even busy. When it is, you can expect to wait over an hour The food is mediocre, they don't take card, they spike the alcohol-prices during high season and they do not offer cleaning your room even if you stay for several weeks.

The good stuff is the location and the environment and other guests. The staff is nice, but just slow in general.

The place is very lively and huge. Too loud and crowded for my taste. Couldn't spend the whole week over there so I moved somewhere else.
