The restaurant claims to have vegan options and even has it on the sign. When I tried to order we were told they put cheese in everything and tried to convince us that it was vegan still

Buena comida y buen servicio!! Las empanadas y los tacos muy ricos!! Lo único que es chico adentro y para pasar al baño que es unisex, tienes que pasar al costado de la cocina.

The food here was sooooo good. It is a must.

    Highlights:

Got three kinds of Emapanadas which if you don't know what they are would be comparable to Hot Pockets or small Calzones (Rajas, Mexican, and Carne). They all blew my mind so much. The Mexican empanada was awesome and spicy. My wife was dying after eating one bite. It just made my nose run a bit. Ha ha.

The empanadas are made fresh. I saw pictures online that made it seem as if they did frozen ones. I think that is just a stock photo though. The Google photos of others were a better represenation. Fresh dough and fresh meats and veggies.

The Rajas was so delicious. Basically, for anyone not in the know, Rajas is melted cheese with onions and poblano pepper (very mild pepper). They add corn in theirs here, and I am dead serious they are excellent. I am a big fan of meat (these have none), but I love rajas.

The Carne empanada is made with picadillo which is groudn beef with some olives and carrots chopped up. For anyone who knows what an empanada is before coming here, this is standard style, but these are not standard. They are great.

The green salsa is quite nice as well. I believe it is a jalapeño based salsa. So good.

I also got a Campechano taco. I live in Las Vegas which has some pretty authentic taco placesthis taco was the best I ever had. Loved it.

The staff is very kind and humble and don't forget to tip 20 pesos just for making such awesome food.

Best food I have had in Mexico, and we were at a 5 star hotel in Puerto Vallarta before coming to Mahahual.
