Zazil Tunich opened a year ago in 2017 and it is really a lovely place to be. Our guide (Pedro) took us in the underworld and abducted our minds in a time where religion, superstition and spanish conquistadore were in a daily ocurrence. Highlight was the cenote, with all his structured buildings (full of huge stalagnites and stalactits), the „pool area“ ;-) and all the wildlife (bats, fishes, etc)! Absolutly recommended!
(Photos were difficult to make because of the low lightconditions. Imho it‘s more important to see this with your own eyes. You will definitly never forget this experience!)response / report this review -

A bit more than some others @$250mxn p/p but TOTALLY WORTH IT! Call ahead to reserve a spot on the laid-back small group evening & night tours to avoid big bus crowds! The very hospitable English and Spanish speaking guides include family members that are also managers/owners of the property. They do a great job of teaching ancient Mayan history of the area and providing detailed information about the cenoté itself. Thanks for everything Pedro!!

Precioso lugar para pasar el dia. Dura te el recorrido te cuentan la leyenda de xibalba, datos curiosos del cenote, una limpia con un Xmen (sacerdote maya) y si quieren también se puede comer ahí, cabe mencionar que la comida esta echa de manera tradicional (a la leña) y está deliciosa!!!! Lo super recomiendo!!!! Los tour son de 3 y 5 pm, si son más de 4 personas se puede armar un tour aparte (mejor comunicarse con el dueño para saber con exactitud si hay lugar)

THIS WAS THE MOST AWESOME CENOTE AND INTRODUCTION THE THE MAYAN UNDERWORLD. THE CEREMONYS AND EXLANATION OF THIS AMAZING SPECTACULAR CENOTE IS BEYONG 5 STARS. A CHALLENGE TO FIND BUT WELL WORTH IT. THE ENTIRE FAMILY TAKES PART OF THIS MARVELOUS SITE INCLUDING A VERY TASTY "REAL MAYAN" LUNCH WITH REAL "HAND-MADE" TORTILLAS. THIS IS NOT TO BE MISSED!
