I first went to this wonderful clinic a couple years ago and was so impress with the staff and professionals that I make a point of now going at least twice a year they are such great people they make you feel like family. The service is unlike any other from picking you up at the airport to the pick up and return to your resort even the drivers are so friendly and helpful

I thoroughly researched international dental clinics for a full mouth restoration. Ocean Dental professionals are superb in their diagnosis and treatment plans. Their teams of dentists, endodontists, periodontists, oral surgeons and technicians work as a team. I arranged a 1.5 week treatment plan for my entire mouth. The work is superb. The owner who is a graduate of Univ of Michigan Dentistry personally checks each of her doctors work with one final inspection conducted at the end. The follow up returning to the states is incredible.

I had no coverage in Canada, so planned to get a cleaning and likely some fillings (had been three years since I had been to the dentist, yikes!) They were so great at keeping in contact - picked us up at the airport, and again at our hotel on day of appointment. I was seen immediately, almost no wait time at all (i'm used to waiting nearly an hour back home!). They showed me before and after photos of the stain removal on the backs of my front teeth and I was amazed - it was like a new set of teeth! I had 3 small fillings done, and for the first time didn't need freezing, which i was SO relieved about because I HATE needles. I never felt a thing, the dentist was great. I really recommend this place for any dental work- they've also been really great with follow up - highly highly recommend!

My husband and I had a good experience here. It was obvious they cared. You need to be realistic about wait times as there are many patients being seen and you will most likely not be seen on time. Bring a book.
My husband is happy with his fillings. I had 3 crowns done and other than needing to floss extra b/c of the space in between, for the price, they are well done. They also LOOK flawless.response / report this review -

I have been visiting this clinic for the past three years. I fly all the way from Minnesota to get my teeth work done here. I have also referred about 4-5 people to this clinic and they are all happy with the work that’s been done here. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Everyone is very friendly and professional no matter what you are having done. Going to the dentist is never fun, however i usually leave here happy. Keep up the great work!

Oh, by the way, I'm not a medical tourist - I live here so I can keep refreshing this and warning off potential victims of your malpractice.
Trip 1: Prescreened and found to need 6 fillings.
Trip 2: (Just a few weeks after trip 1) Came back with an appointment to get the 6 fillings. Waited more than 3 hours AFTER my appointment time before they finally took me in. The dentist gave me a shot of novacaine and waited about 10 minutes to start drilling. Less than 50 minutes later all 6 fillings were done (which would be great if they were competently done.) Unfortunately, since I was numbed up I couldn't feel that they weren't completely filling the drilled spaces. They also weren't polished smooth. Now just a few months later 4 of the 6 have had to be redone - 3 of those crumbled and fell out, and the 4th they installed over the top of another filling (without cleaning out decay - time saver I guess).
Update Dec 2017: now 4 of 6 have crumbled and completely fallen out plus the additional one they installed over another filling needed replaced.)
The other dentist I had repair this practice's utterly incompetent and sloppy work initially wouldn't comment about the work, but after now coming in to clean up their mess on 4 of the 6 restorations he is very candid that the quality of their work is inexcusable.
It's curious if you read the bad reviews that the "owners response" never (seriously not in even one) has a hint of taking responsibility. In fact they go out of their way to blame the patient.

I had extensive dental work done here just over a year ago now. Great staff and excellent work and I've had no problems what so ever. I'm very happy with them and I would recommend them anytime.. Thanks again !!

BEST DECISION IVE EVER MADE. I got 20 porcelain veneers a full set. Whitest color they offer. My dreams have come true.
Ive had braces and Invisalign and my teeth were still uneven and had their flaws. My parents told me they weren't paying another dollar for my teeth so I took matters into my own hands. I've wanted to fix my teeth for years but thought it was too big of a dream at this point. I could never afford the prices here in the US or get approved for any loan or care credit. I'm young and have student loans etc. My only choice was to pay in cash upfront and most likely had to be out of the US because I got quotes here that were 20,000-30,000 dollars. Out of the US is 1/3 of the price. But that also came with the fact of traveling and had to make sure I was safe and secure where I went. I researched for months and this was the only place out of the US that stood out to me, was legit, responsive, and had 5 star amazing reviews. I traveled alone from NYC to cancun for a week to get my teeth done. Worth every penny. Was well taken care of. Stayed at an all inclusive only a few minutes away from the dental clinic. They take amazing care of their patients before during and after the procedure. And keep in mind I'm in my early 20's in a foreign country. All of the people at the clinic can speak English as well. Free transportation to and from airport hotel resorts and dental clinic. Quick and responsive phone calls emails with clinic. Since Ive returned back to NY I've stopped on the street and at work every single day people asking me how are my teeth so perfectly straight and white etc??!!!!? Every single day. They do the procedures the same exact way they're US licensed and certified. Amazing. This place changed my life. I've so far referred anyone who asks me to go here and will continue for the rest of my life. I can't even explain how grateful I am that I found this place. It truly goes to show when you want something you'll do anything to get it done. And I did. Not only did I do it but I am completely still blown away every day I look in the mirrortheir work is BEAUTIFUL. I have no words. BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT NOW. Nightmare of experience. I had a full reconstruction of my dental work. After 4 emergency trips back to ocean dental to fix the ton of problems they caused I'm still in need of major work caused by ocean dental. My advice to anyone who uses ocean dental is to pay by American express to ensure that you can be refunded for any procedures they fail to complete correctly. They may be cheaper then a USA dentist but I wound up paying more to fix the multiple problems ocean dental has caused. I guess the saying you get what you pay for is totally true.

I have been a patient here for about two years - and the service just keeps getting better and better! I had an appointment on June 12, for adjustments to or replacement of my dentures. The transportation provided was on time, efficient and courteous, and the drive was swift and uneventful - the driver was a very safe driver.
My appointment began within 5 minutes of arriving at the clinic, which is an improvement from past visits. They worked very hard to adjust my existing dentures and make them fit perfectly - I am so happy and can eat just about anything again! I was worried I would be looking at the cost of new dentures but they were able to fix my existing ones - so nice cost savings there.
I highly recommend Ocean Dental Cancun to anyone looking to have any type of dental work done - Dr. Irma is amazing!!response / report this review -

Going to the dentist is the last thing I wanted to do while on vacation.
Spoke with ocean dental's office via email (10 emails) 40days before our trip to Cancun. Let them know we just wanted a cleaning and whitening. They assured us everything was in place for our appointment.
They had a courtesy pick up available for us which I thought was very nice of them. Driver was over 30min late (40min wait in out lobby) that put us 45min late for our appointment (myself, 2 kids, and mother)
Once we finally arrived we waited 1.5hrs in the waiting room beyond our appointment time. I asked the lady nicely what their plan was for us. 45min later they took my mom in for a consultation which they said would take them another 45min. That puts my kids in the waiting room for 3hrs. For a cleaning and whitening
I'm in Cancun on vacation This is why we spoke via email many times so they were ready for us. We eventually just walked out! One day of a seven day trip wasted.

I have visited Ocean Dental in Cancun several times. It is the most technologically advanced dental office I have ever seen. The founder taught dentistry at the University of Michigan. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices are wonderfully reasonable. Friends recommended this clinic to me and I have told friends about it. I wish I had learned about it years ago. I will go again next year.

I contacted Ocean Dental before my trip to Cancun in February, 2016.They requested copies of my recent dental x-rays, called me back and gave me a very detailed preliminary evaluation, discussed some treatment options and even gave me a quote. I was very impressed with their professional manner, and looked forward to my first appointment. One the day of my appointment I was picked up by one of their drivers and brought in to Ocean Dental. I was delighted to discover that this was the most modern, technologically advanced Dental office I had ever seen, and I live in NY, USA!. An x-ray technician took a series of scans, and then I met with an treatment manager who outlined a treatment that I was quite pleased with. The very next day, I was back for my treatment. I met with Dr. Gavilan who explained the procedures, and I was prepped for the work. The Doctor and her staff were exceptional practitioners. I had 3 implants done in about 2 hours with no discomfort at all. When I left the office, I was given a complete record of my work, including technical details in case I wanted some follow-up work when I returned home. I was particularly impressed by that. Despite how involved these implants were, the very next day, I was back to enjoying my vacation in Cancun. In about a month I will be returning to Dr. Gavilan, to have even more work done. I just cannot say enough good things about the quality care I have received at this exceptional clinic.

I had a great experience at Ocean Dental. The main dentist Irma was incredibly friendly, and the rest of the team team was great. I had a root canal and an on-lay done and felt just slight soreness after the operation. Most people including myself, initially investigate dental tourism as a way to save money. I was very pleasantly surprised how there was no drop off in quality from my experiences in Canadian dental offices. Irma was actually able to diagnose a problem I've had with my teeth for 15 years within the first day, and the information she gave me was something no other orthadentist or dentist ever suggested (and I've seen a lot). The only reason this rating isn't a 5 star is because there are times were the receptionists seemed a bit disorganized with the shuttles back to the hotels. The main reason is due to the amount of people they treat, not lack of effort. If you willing to put up in that and spending your off hours on the beach there's no reason not to choose them.

I just finished my treatments in Ocean Dental and I am very satisfied with the whole experience. The clinic is located in the hotel zone, which is very safe, I am a female in my 20s and was traveling alone and was comfortable the whole time. The clinic is quite large and clean, very friendly English speaking staff, modern equipment. They did a good job and the price was great even after flight/hotel expenses. They also provide transportation to and from the airport/hotel at no additional cost, which is very convenient. Should I need any additional dental work in the future I would come back without hesitation. Definitely recommend their services.
