Drastically overpriced and terrible seafood. We ordered the Surf and Turf grill which came with filet mignon, lobster, shrimp, and skirt steak on top of veggies and pineapples. All of those meats were overcooked except for the filet in which we asked for medium but received rare. The view near the water is nice but that is about it. The guacamole wasn't so great either. I've had better guac at home. AVOID by all means.

I had the whole fish cooked in foil with some kind of green sauce. It took about 20 minutes to cook but the flavor was amassing. I highly recommend.

Great ambience! Views were beautiful on the water. Food and service was fantastic. My fiancé spoke her Spanglish and won us a free shot of tequila from the waiter. Lol.

The Tuna steak was to die for! I can't wait to go back. It was cooked to perfection. I absolutely loved the view as well. You can't go wrong with this place. So glad that our hotel concierge recommend this place to us.

Five stars from me! I have been to Mocambo several times and every single visit has been very pleasant, staring with the view and the nice sea breeze. The passion fruit mojito is very good, food is phenomenal. The presentation and the service are top quality. Antonio, our waiter, was very friendly. We were a group of 6 and had a great time. Try the tequila with chocolate at the end of the meal. It’s really good.

Please take my advice and avoid. Dinner started out good enough, with nice cocktails a caesar salad and shrimp ceviche. All of these courses were very good and I had high hopes for the main course.
Then came out the scallops, which had the consistency of chewing gum. In an effort to see if my girlfriend was simply being dramatic, I tried one and spit it out long after the flavor subsided to nothing but it had yet to break down.
The “Tuna Carnitas” seemed as if they took a can of chunk tuna, combined it with onions and cilantro, then dried it out as much as humanly possible.
Very disappointing as this was supposed to be a nice meal. On top of all of that, service was far from optimal.response / report this review -

Decent food, lobster is overpriced and not good. I recommend "carnitas de atun". Apparently when it rains outside, it rains inside the restaurant too, look at my picture. Huge leaks and it's not even raining hard.

Awesome view & great food! Had a wonderful time during vacation in Cancun! :) I liked the fresh octopus, bf's tuna carnita was delicious, & the salmon was perfection. Definitely coming back again for the view, food & service!

The food was delicious and the staff friendly. A lot of the servers here do not know a lot of English unlike other restaurants in the area. Portions were great.

We had a superb dinner there. Super attentive service from several wait staff. Oyster Rockefeller awesome. Did not care for the fresh octopus but that was just personal taste. Highly recommended. Ask for waterside table. Great atmosphere and there was a live romantic singer adding to the ambiance. Mojitos were great too.

Great atmosphere, big menu, and live singer was the best. The not so best was my fried fish it came out burnt, wife lobster tacos were cold, offered the one and only free drink would of liked to have another. Asked for water 3 times. He finally brought out bottled water for everyone (barely cool). Small bottles at about $2 per. That was just the icing on the cake. Slow service Still the atmosphere was awesome

We grabbed a seat with a relatively good ocean view and went for the seafood buffet. I think I may have even got mildly sick afterwards, but hey, it tasted amazing and it's seafood, what do you expect! Anyway, the baked mussels were crazy good.

Seafood at a decent price. Great range of choices on the menu. The view is AMAZING! Get the cheese stuffed shrimp. You will not be disappointed.

Firstly, great view!! I felt however the place was overpriced as well as overrated. We went during the afternoon and I chose the seafood buffet. It was Okay, nothing spectacular. Not knowing Spanish was a problem as I didn't know certain things were supposed to be ordered as part of the buffet (like the shrimp cocktail). The service was also okay, but it felt like they expect a really high tip for it. Somehow I felt unsatisfied with the whole experience.
