Been here several times over the last 10 years as a tourist. It's a great mix of locals and tourists which I love. Always very great experience. All the food is great but my favorite is the stuffed potato. Also, I just had a taste of my friends' pina colada, it was the best I ever had :)

Great for tacos! All kinds of meats available, along with an assortment of delicious salsas. For novelty, try the stone bowls! They are heated over coals and the contents are literally boiling as it arrives at the table. Who doesn't love melty cheese? And it's served it with tortillas, easily shareable for 2 hungry people. Also should try the fried rolled cheese appetizer!

We enjoy trying small local eats and decided to try this one. To start with, they bring you tortillas with 5 or 6 different sauces ranging from mild to hot. We ordered the fried cheese and guacamole appetizers. Both were awesome. The fried cheese tasted just like the cheese that seeps out of a grilled cheese sandwich and sizzles on the bottom of the frying pan. The guacamole was fresh and very tasty. For a meal, my wife ordered the Simple Antojito (Bean/Cheese). I tried 3 different Volcanoes (Pork Shoulder, Mexican Sausage & Chicken). Everything was very tasty and well worth the Pesos.

We found this place on our last trip in February 2018 by accident. The atmosphere is fun and the food and service outstanding. My favorite place to eat now while visiting! Stone bowls, salsa, gaucomole, steak and fajitas were delicious. Thank you, I will definitely be back!

Awesome ambience. Live music, great service, free wifi. Great Mexican cuisine. Tacos are very good. Stone bowl portion is big, enough for two. Cocktails are pretty good too.

Pricey, as it is in the hotel district. Only had a drink. Happy hour promotion looks more promising.

We took a cab to Guacamayas from The Grand Mayan. It would be hard to find on foot I would think. The restaurant serves authentic Mexican cuisine. The place was busy but we were seated immediately and our waitress was very helpful suggesting appetizers and main courses. We chose the fried cheese and guacamole to start and shared a hot stone bowl combination beef and chicken as our main course. There was plenty for two we couldn't even finish! Our tamarind margaritas were also very good and a nice change from the regular. The service is very fast, friendly and efficient. A good choice.
