The room was clean but they let people party all night long INSIDE the hotel and didn’t mind if the guests couldn’t sleep (the sound resonates a lot because of the architecture of the hotel). My husband and I had an early flight the next morning and we could sleep only 2hrs.

Nice enough hotel, but I don't have a comparison to make it against in Mexico City. It's a bare bones hotel. Nice but nothing special. Center of everything, but just not very special.

Hotel Roosevelt is a clean well run hotel located in La Condesa Hipodromo an improving fashionable area of CDMX. A room with a King size bed is 990 mxn, which is a excellent value. It has a simple restaurant and room service. However, within walking distance there are 100's of great restaurants, and night life.

The room was clean, comfortably appointed, and the staff courteous. The hotel is quite old but well maintained and apparently very well built. I saw no evident damage from the 09/19/17 earthquake that destroyed or damaged several nearby buildings.

UPDATE - July
~My second trip there. I realize now there is no A/C. That really sucked this time of the year.
~Wifi in room 314 is WEAK!!! omg.. I looked silly standing out in the hallway to get my stuff done for work. In this era, there's really no excuse for crappy wifi.
~Housekeeping pissed me off as they insisted on trying to clean my room after 3pm, when I'm back from the day and trying to nap.
~On a positive note, my room was on the side facing Calle Popocatepetl which was a little quieter than the other side.
It's still a good value for the price, but I'll probably stay somewhere else next time.

January:
I stayed 15 days and really enjoyed my "home away from home" as they put it. I will return, but with earplugs.
~Staff: friendly housekeepers. Tip daily, they deserve it. I didn't deal with the lobby staff often, but when I did, it was professional. They made change for my $500 peso bills, so that was cool. I spoke spanglish and we communicated just fine.
~Cleanliness: clean clean clean.
~Ammenities: Not sure what was wrong with the safe. It didn't work. Bottled watter offered every day. Basic toiletries and hair dryer. Wear sandals in the shower as the tile flooring is extremely slippery. Water was hot and the pressure was good.
~Bed: hard and pillows flat but some people are into that sort of thing.
~Location: convienent and near many restaurants, bars, and a market (Circle K) for late night snacks and early morning coffee. Situated on what might possibly be the loudest street in the western hemisphere, bring earplugs. I'm not joking. It's only quiet between 3-4 am
~Room service: food was not great. For the price, it was better to go outside and get food from a vendors. There was tacos, tortas, hamburgers, pizza, chinese, and fruit stands just right outside.
~Wifi is very weak and non-existent in the evenings. I had to go to the lobby a couple of times to get my emails.response / report this review -

Great location for the price. The room is clean and the bathroom is clean as well. Area is safe and easy access to many eateries and museums. Can't beat it for the price. WiFi is spotty, yet works most of the time.

The hotel is very close to the Metrobus station Álvaro Obregón, the location are very good, the prices are affordable, the rooms has all the minimum requirements, the food in the restaurant is very good and the people very helpful.

The hotel is located at the edge of condesa which is a nice, the rooms were clean, and the service okay. it was loud though before we changed rooms and they only prepared the rooms for too few people
