Unique place to eat in town. It's a buffet with many Mayan options. We were seated quickly and the food was delicious. I especially loved the tostada's and ice cream!

i went when it was blizarding and i was in shorts and a tee shirt. it sucks. its cold. i lost both my legs because of frost bite. OUCH. it was too hot also

Amazing place to visit. I wish we would have planned more time to see the sights. Give yourself a good 4-6 hours to see everything on your own if you don't have a guide.

An amazing piece of engineering. Every equinox, the snakes create a series of shadows on the stairs which resembles a descending snake, which symbolizes a divine feathered serpent of ancient Aztec culture. Also, the sum of the number of the steps including one for the temple on the top is 365.
This place was the site of human sacrifice ceremonies.

Beautiful grounds historic and sacred! Bring water it gets warm there and definitely your camera!! Such an amazing astrological sight, with the equinox and the pyramid its just an amazing place to see how advanced the Mayans truly were!

Never been but it looks terrible and too warm they need to install some fans in this building to make it more accessible to human tourists. Appalled by the lack of UFO spottings after all the claims the Mayan people have made!

Very magical place. But it was very busy the day we went. One line to pay one line actually get into site both very long. Drink lots of water it was hot. They have very beautiful souvenirs so take cash. If you really want something negotiate on price.

What a great experience! The kids were studying this subject in school and we decided to make it real. The adjacent Mayaland Hotel was fantastic. The grounds around the ruins are so well kept. You can almost close your eyes and image what life was like during the highpoint of the Mayan culture. It can get a little warm depending on what time of year you visit so bring lots of water. The vendors are the biggest turn off as they are everywhere and will not leave you alone. If you can get over that, then you'll have a great time.

An amazing experience! We could've driven there from Cancun, but got scared because of the tour salesman. I wish we didn't listen. Couldn't enjoy the whole site as I wanted to, because of the tour time limit. Definitely going back!

Very hot and lots of walking. Definitely rent the umbrellas and bring water. Take the early morning tours to beat the crowds. Beautiful place.

If you love the history about the mayan temples then El Castillo in Chichenitza is one of the places you must visit. We used a tour guide from mayan explorer and they do have a lot of knowledge of the area but you could also do this on your own or with friends.

Truly awesome to get to see this place in person, definitely something visit in a lifetime. It was hot as balls, but this place and the rest of the Yucatan peninsula were so beautiful and alive that it still didn't bother us. My wife and I were hesitant to pay $50 for a personal guide, but after the guy talked us through the history and meaning of everything it was well worth it, and we ended up giving him a very good tip, the place is so much interesting and complex if you have someone explain it to you.
