    Costa Maya

This was our 3rd stop on our cruise. We weren't sure what to expect. It was super crowded. Lots of folks walking around.

We didn't leave the port area. Our snorkeling excursion got cancelled, so we decided to just walk around.

Lots of entertainment. People walking around in costumes, putting on short shows. Lots of bars, and little shops.

Not too many places to eat. We ended up eating at a place on the water. El Faro Beer and Grill, which was crazy expensive. Charged an 18 percent tax. Pretty sure we got scammed.

Everything here is rediculously overpriced. I bought a dress, they said was 40, at one of the shops. I don't know pesos, so they said 900. Turned out to be about 48 bucks when I checked my card charge.

Nowhere to really go to the beach there at that port. They have some lounge chairs, and a pool with a swim up bar. Not one of my favorites. Just over priced, and over crowded.

There were shuttles to take you somewhere else. Not sure where. We wish we had gone to find out though.

Nothing short of one huge built tourist trap. When you get off your cruse ship you walk through this crowded Mexican theme park where you finally get out to a road. When you figure out where to purchase the $2 tickets to get a ride you then get in line to be loaded onto these hay ride like trailers pulled by trucks to take you to their "town" on the beach. This town is just another tourest trap again with people heckling to get your business with crappy food. This place is just a built up town and made to look like the way we imagine what Mexico is like from the Disney channel. Not a place I would ever want to go back to.

Typical Cruise Port. It has everything a tourist need from dolphin swim to huge pool with swim up bar and typical cruise shipping. Do yourself a favor. Take a $2 taxi to town and explore/experience the wonderful beach.

Beautiful place, I would recommend to visit the pyramids. The port is really pretty, however, the stores are really overpriced and owners try to get money out of you by any way possible: i was taking a picture in a hat from a store and the maneger told me it's $5 to take a picture lol
