  Very interesting place, great cenote and activities like ziplining made much fun! And it's not so crowded like other cenotes!

  Took the Ek-Balam and Cenote Maya tour with Alltournative . 5 stars out of 5 is not enough for how absolutely spectacular it was. Our guide, Josh, was an absolute beacon of knowledge telling stories about the Mayans, local history, geography and geology, all with a great sense of humour. The tour itself was great and surprisingly empty of people considering it was school holidays, apparently Ek-Balam is a bit of a hidden wonder. Highly recommended.

  The Cenote (meaning sinkhole) was a fun excursion. Apparently all privately owned by the remaining indigenous Mayan people, they are believed to be the entrance to the underground world. The Mayans thought them too dangerous for people to explore mainly for spiritual reasons. Now they grant access to the large caverns which are their underground water supplies, but you must first attend a brief blessing by a shaman to protect your spirit. Also you are made to shower off before descending into the Cenote. After all preparations are complete, you are welcome to walk down or repel into the cool waters below. There are zip lines and diving platforms to enhance the activities in the Cenote. Afterwards they offer authentic Mayan dishes prepared and served on site to visitors. Overall a very different and interesting activity. The only drawback may be the travel time if you are booked in a large group picking up from multiple resorts. I was told it was a two hour trip by van, which became four hours one way after making four additional stops for other tourists. I'm still happy I went, but I was misinformed by the booking company about the travel time involved. Its a full day but worth it. Just know what you're in for.

  Très belle cenote avec accès en rappel c'est super la vu que l'ont a durant la descente. Une eau bien fraîche nous attend en bas et deux plongeoir d'une belle hauteur pour vous occuper lors de votre temps libre. Par contre pour photos prévoir une go pro car les autre appareil sont interdits et ils vendent à la fin de la visite les photos à un prix exorbitant. Nous avons également mangé la bas car c'est une coopérative maya qui cultive eux même leurs légumes et miel et nous avons d'ailleurs très bien mangé.
