This is our second time coming to Cafe Tacuba, as you can see from the rating that our experience wasn't a good one. We actually visited Cafe Tacuba last year and had a terrible experience while eating when the manager struck my wife with the corner of a table that he was attempting to set up in the middle of a very busy restaurant. He scratched and drew blood on my wife's shoulder which resulted in a very nasty bruise and acted like it was nothing. This year we decided to give them another chance because all of our family raved about Cafe Tacuba. The main problem tis time was our waitress who apparently was having a very bad day. Her poor attitude and lack of even a little smile set the time for the rest of the meal.

What an amazing reataurant! The atmosphere is super fun and we loved the mariachi band that goes through. The mariachi players are very nice and talented. The food was great and the staff was super nice. We loved the art and decorations all over the restaurant. I would highly recommend going.

The wait was not as long as expected. They made sure to seat everyone down as quickly as possible. The service itself was a little slow, but when you have a constant flow of people coming in, it is to be expected. The food is what makes the place. We had a variety of dishes at our table, and all surpassed our expectations. If I happen to be in cdmx again, this will be a go to for sure!

The staff is nice, cool authentic decor. Food is very basic, plain. I'm from San Diego and expected this place to blow me away with great food. Its about the quality you would get at a cafeteria.

It's one of my favourite places. They serve all types of Mexican food, the service is impeccable and the Estudiantina that plays there is fantastic. You can't miss their sweet bread.

One of the best looking restaurants in Mexico. The outside can be deceiving but once you go inside the place its amazing! The service and the food were good quality. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars was that their card machine broke down so I had to pay in cash. Apart from that everything was great! I would definitely come back

Classical Restaurant and Coffee Shop. Ancient yet delicious place to imagine all celebrities that shared a meal or even got inspired inside these historical walls. A single coffee won't be enough once you cross this door! Cozy and welcoming.

The atmosphere was great, the live music was incredible. Drinks were also great and unique. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that the food wasn't just good not great

Very noisy upstairs, slow service, and only mediocre food. Seems to live more on reputation than actual quality.

The building gives one a very nice chance to know a historical structure. The atmosphere of the place is familiar and fun. I find the prices are too high and the quality of the food is only regular.

I have been here five times. The decoration is nice. The service fine. The food? I had this time chicken tacos which were completely tasteless, nearly the worst I have ever tasted. My wife ordered tacos with mole, the chicken inside the tacos was tasteless and dried. During a previous visit the waiter would not come back with my change, and when I asked him about it, he said, " well, I did not include the tip, so I kept it" I was furious and asked him to bring me my change. I left without leaving any tip. If they see you are a tourist they may try to profit from you.

Menu has no pictures nor descriptions, making dishes sound ok, but most of them are pretty good. Place decorations are pretty. Restrooms are pretty good as well.

Loved the food here. At night you get to see a group play music. The decorations and just the whole interior is amazing

Ambiance was lovely, very Mexican style with tiled walls and hand painted traditional murals. Servers were dressed nicely and took order right away. Plenty of delicious warm bread, we recommend the Mexican style coffee and hot chocolate. Food was tasty, traditional and portions were filling. We enjoyed the food and the experience, you won't be disappointed.

What can I add that hasn't already been said? This is more than just a café or restaurant, this is an authentic piece of fabulous Mexican culture. Great food and cool beer, naturally but it is the setting and ambience that make a visit so memorable. At busy times be prepared to wait -- your patience will be rewarded.

Beautiful traditional Mexican ambient. Food is great. It is not a cheap place, but not an expensive one either. Prices from 100 to 300.
    Very recommended.
