STAY AWAY!!!!! Before trip car rental & insurance was paid. 1. At check-in we were asked for $8000 deposit since my insurance will pay me, not car rental, for accident.2. Fair, we agree, card is declined according to representative. Called bank no declined transaction per banker. Kept banker on the cell line went inside waiting in line. I looked around and all clients card we declined, everyone was hearing the same thing I heard before. The person in front of me was asked to cancel his purchased insurance and purchase America insurance otherwise no car. But once you accepted to buy America insurance now card is accepted. Wasted time in line and calls to bank just to hear card is declined, bankers stating no transactions on the system and the threat from America representative last time will run your credit card.

Has the most affordable rates in town. Jairo Estrada was very helpful in assisting with a flat tire that we had in the middle of our trip, and was always just a call away. The cars could be better, specially check the brakes and tires.

My experience was very nice. I didn’t want to write a review before my deposit was released, but today it was, so I am writing it now:)
We came literally from a street, because those car rental we relied on, failed (either no cars or price was too high).
We took modest but very comfortable Nissan March, it was in a good condition and very economy. Paperwork took about 20 minutes, we got all necessary guidance, and there we went!
The only thing I would suggest: if you takes a car at this particular spot, but want to return in at the airport, ask for an exact location, because it’s not at the airport, but nearby.response / report this review -

This is the scam: you decline their insurance coverage (which comes out to over $30 a day) because you have proof from your bank that you have coverage on your credit card. They “run your card” and it magically doesn’t go through. Then they run it again, and you’ve hit your credit limit (when you have not). You call your credit card company and they say a charge was never even attempted. They then tell you that you can purchase the insurance and the transaction will surely work. We didn’t even get a car and I am sure these are the most vile humans that have ever existed. What a scam.

We rent a car 3 weeks ago for 10 days. The pick up went quick without any problems. The guy at the desk was nice and handle the process professionally. I had third party insurance. They gave us nearly a new car with 30000km. Also the handover when we come back was very smooth. I can recommend the company. They learned and want to do better service.

There is nothing to recommend. Rude staff, slow service. First car they give me has no working brake lights. Second haf lost its front number plate and is impounded by a policeman, before I have even left theur centre. they screw it on.. Then i find it has dodgy electrics and brakes down on second day.
Also watch out for the small print, what they tell you about insurance and what they want you to sign do not match. They lie with every breath.response / report this review -

Very horrible experience, first the Waite time in the office was 2 hours after we had reservation done at the airport office. Office was so hot that we all were sweating , staff was not helpful at all. Supervisor just kept walking around , no customer service and overall worst experience I ever had.

Do not rent a car here they will sell your creditcard details to other criminals. We hired a car with a new creditcard only used it for the bond only they and our bank had the details. One day after we brought the car back our card details were used in India. They stole for hundreds of dollars before our bank blocked our card. America has a dodgy policy anyway where you pay $500 dollar bond with a credit card of $1000if you use a debit card. When we asked why this was we were told because with a debit card you can ask for your money back (in case they steal the money like they did with us). See this car place? Run!

Absolute scam and waste of 3 hours of my time!!!! Never rent from them! I reserved the car in advanced and paid $50 US up-front for 4 days. I thought the deal was done when i showed up. My credit card offers full insurance up to the total value of the card but they said in order to accept that they need a letter from my bank stating the benefits. Me showing them the credit card fine print where it talks about the coverage wasn't enough. I finally folded and I called my bank and got the letter emailed to me, 45 minutes later. They didn't accept it saying that it didn't show how much the coverage was for. I pointed out the sentence saying it's for the full value of the car. They said "oh, the car is worth $12000. It needs to say $12000." How ludecrous. The bank won't know the value of every car the rental company has. Finally they accepted the letter. But instead of a $1200 USD deposit they need a $12000 deposit to pay for the whole car on my credit card. Even with the letter they wanted me to pay for the whole car. My card didn't have that limit, of course. The only other option they offered was to pay $100us for their insurance (it was $50 an hour earlier, but they upped it to $100). Tripling the price. This is an absolute bait and switch scam. I don't trust a single thing they said as when i jumped through one hoop they constructed another to strong arm me into paying more.

Car was OK but they insisted to sell additional insurance which they pretend is not covered by Mastercard Gold Card (internal policy This is obviously a scam). But you discover that too late when signing the registration documents downtown (far from the airport) with passengers and luggages waiting for you to go

I made a reservation with a company called Avicar which was supposed to be right by Puerto Juarez. Avicar is not a real business. They picked me up (eventually) at Puerto Juarez and drove me to downtown Cancun to a place called America Car Rentals that had a sign that also said ACE car rental and there was another name on the paperwork. On the way back, the guy demanded a tip to take me back to Puerto Juarez. If this place was even legit and at the location listed on Google maps, then I could have walked to Puerto Juarez! Plus it took over an hour to check in and about 40 minutes to turn the car back in! They are soooo slow. Also I ordered a booster seat, which they charged me for and did not have. It took them a very long time to give me my money back. I won't go back to this shady business again and I DO NOT recommend it to anyone.

Never and ever rent a car with them. Trust me. Please dont rent any car. Even if there is no any other car in other companies dont rent it from these guys. They are cheater. I had premium insurance and i rented trasporter. They said everything will be ok because you bought premium insurance. They wanted me to sign voucher check( dont sign it because when you drop iff your vehicle they will not give it back to you, they will say your check is in other location dont worry we will destroy it , but they will charge more money when you go to airport) after few days i was deiving the car very well. I swear i did not do anything bad or i did not damage anything. The car was stickshift and i knuw how to drive them. Im so professional on stick shift cars. One night i was driving the car from playa del carmen to cancun and the car had a problem with shift. I stuck on the road i called the customer service they said dont worry we will give you a new car. When the mechanics came they took a look at the car and both of them said dont worry this is not your fault. Then i got new car. After i dropped off the car to cancun location i wanted my voucher check back but they said we dont have it it is in our ither location some how we sent it to them but dont worry we will destroy it. I trust them and when i came back to US they charged 893$ more. I emailed them and called them. Some one from customer service told me that this is your fault you did not drive the car very well. We can not give back your money. If you look other reviews you will see most of their customers had excatlly same problem. DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM
THEM.. NEVER ,EVER.. if necessary take the bus , take the taxi, uber, but do not rent the car from America Car Rental company or from one ot their brands..response / report this review -

After being picked up on the airport, everything went fine till they made the process extra long. They kept talking about insurance and extra feeds and we had to leave a deposit of $7000 pesos to guarantee we were going to return the car, supposedly it said it on the website which it didn't! After we return the car a few days later. The guy at the front desk said we were going to get our money back in 3 days. Its been almost two weeks and nothing! I wouldn't recommend this company at all maybe if they were alittle bit more loyal to their customers and on top of that they scan your credit card front and back. Beware
