Summary; Terrible & frustrating experience. Bad customer service.
Update: Shiuna from management personally called me to apologize & offered free consultation. She assured me that they will talk to the receptionist about his conduct. I'm happy that she took the time to listen to my concerns unlike the unhelpful receptionist & doctor. I'm adding 2 more stars to the original 1 star review because a) an apology goes a long way (receptionist never even apologized for the misunderstanding eventhough we apologized for getting frustrated) and b) she genuinely tried to help. Thankyou.
My full experience: Went there due to my infected wisdom tooth & chose Vital Care because of the good online reviews. Sadly, I had to wait 30mins eventhough I was the only patient waiting there & the patient before me was waiting for the counter to issue their prescription.
Overheard they were experiencing aasandha portal issues & when I went to ask them about it, the receptionist shut me down before I could finish my sentence & told me to please sit down. Later, I mentioned the odd waiting time to the doc but it was brushed off as well.
These were just small red flags that I ignored at first but what happened next is my actual issue with Vital Care & why I won't be going back. The doctor was good-natured & helpful so the one star goes to him for that good consultation. Dr gave me a manual prescription & because of this I faced a lot of problems from pharmacies in getting my meds under aasandha.
My bf & I went back to change the prescription into a printed one so that my meds could be issued under aasandha. They started making hama nujehey excuses,They started saying their prescriptions aren't covered under aasandha, only their services. Even the Dr came out & started getting defensive instead of trying to understand where we were coming from & what our issue was, dismissing us & telling us to speak to management instead.
It was only after we started getting more & more visibly frustrated, angry, & demanding a refund that they stopped being defensive & properly explained & admitted that their clinic is having issues with aasandha portal & so can't issue an prescription in the format aasandha will accept. They spoke to aasandha about the issue, who assumed responsibility & instructed on how to proceed.
I had to come back again because the prescription was incomplete (missing important codes) or had incorrect info (patient info was wrong & ID card no. missing etc). Small mistakes like these that add up & cause a patient to run back & forth from one place to the other just to get medication for unbearable tooth pain.
The receptionist should have done his due diligence & informed me of the aasandha portal issue & made me aware that issues may arise at the pharmacy. You may see it as a petty issue that can be resolved by me paying out of my own pocket but if I had the money I wouldnt need to rely on aasandha & it wouldn't be an issue.
Furthermore, you should have attempted to help me resolve the issue without me having to insist instead on going on the defense & trying to brush me off.
I decided to write a bad review because I believe people who are in the occupation of dealing with people in ailing health should be more compassionate towards them & while it is understandable that for some people it's just another job, I or any of your other patients/clients don't owe it to you to accept sub par services from you, even your job is something as frustrating as customer service.
I hope my experience is an isolated incident & the clinic will take this as constructive criticism from an dissatisfied patient & try to improve.
