  Hanimaadhoo International Airport (Dhivehi: ހަނިމާދޫ ބައިނަލްއަޤުވާމީ ވައިގެ ބަނދަރު IATA: HAQ, ICAO: VRMH) is an airport located on the island of Hanimaadhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Maldives, opened as a domestic airport. It was upgraded to an international airport on 2 February 2012, with the introduction of direct flights to Thiruvananthapuram in India by Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives.
  
  The airport resides at an elevation of 3 feet (1 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 03/21 with an asphalt surface measuring 1,220 by 30 metres (4,003 ft × 98 ft).
  
  Hanimaadhoo is one of the inhabited islands of Haa Dhaalu Atoll administrative division and geographically part of Thiladhummathi Atoll in the north of the Maldives. It is now an International airport of the Maldives, since the operations of flights from Hanimadhoo to Trivandrum on February 03, 2013.
  
  The Hanomaadhoo Meteorological Observatory is located on this island. Many flight scientific research such as those investigating aerosol concentrations in the atmosphere and the Brown Cloud phenomenon have been initiated from Hanimaadhoo.
  
  Islanders from Hathifushi and Hondaidhoo have been relocated to Hanimaadhoo in the recent years. It is planned to be one of the developmental centres of the newly planned Mathi-Uthuru Province.

  Being greeted as you arrive and wishes when you leave..overall everything was great except checkin takes a lot of time.

  Outstanding natural beauty out here. Good number of tourists here from many countries. Good to see Chineese friends in large numbers in large numbers, good meeting them.
