Le Suffren Hotel features nice, clean rooms with a couple of facilities e.g. Gym and pool available to the guests. The swimming pool is rather small, but offer beautiful views of the marina. The restaurant's dinner menu had pleasingly tasty choices but breakfast at Le Suffren was an absolute disaster. They did not have enough personnel to assist - waiting for a table took almost 35 minutes - they had no serviettes, nor enough cutlery available. The manager's attitude was beyond appalling, probably given the fact that he was completely overwhelmed.
Really good to relax and enjoy the happy hour on Fridays. Cocktails are well executed by the barmen specially by Achille! 😉 Security always around so feel kinda safe. But sometimes its really to order your drinks, during special events where there are lots of people, you shod thinknto put more waiters and cashier. Have to wait nearly one hour one time to get my order.
Friendly staff, very helpful. The hotel is located very near to the Port Luis business district and has a ferry to cross the river and then most are within walking distance. Rooms are spacious, neat and water pressure is great (which can be a problem in some hotels). Ambiance is relaxed and has many areas were you can have business meetings.
Located on the waterfront in Port Louis, Le Suffren Hotel & Marina offers spacious rooms overlooking the Indian Ocean or the gardens. Guests can relax at the outdoor pool.
All air-conditioned rooms are decorated in light colours and have a carpeted floor. Each features a seating area, tea-and-coffee-making facilities and a flat-screen TV.
La Boussole, opening onto a spacious terrace, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The outdoor On The Rocks Bar and The Spinnaker’s Concept Bar offer a variety of international snacks and beverages.
Good 4* no elevator so tell them if two flights of stairs are too much. Buffet evening meal, Chinese all 3 nights I was there New year I was told. Take free water taxi across to Port Louis main waterfront shopping and restaurant alternatives. Recommended
Placement is very good, near to Port Louis. Rooms are spacious, equipped with all necessary amenities. Lawn is a wide sitting area just beside canal. Breakfast quality is good but contains less number of bread or snacks type item. Egg is served only upon order and takes approximate 30 minutes. My key card wasn't working and they were very reluctant to repair the lock, which disturbed me a lot. Every time after failed to open the door I had to go to the reception. No lift service and no helping hand to carry luggage to room. It would be appropriate to give a rating of 3.5 (instead of 4)
Really expensive tasteless and senseless food. Waste of time and money. The bar side is better if you want to go with friends for a drink.
Nice business hotel with good food and drinks. Good location.
For those willing to stay in a hotel with access to the beach, there are other alternatives.
Nice place to hang out with friends on Fridays especially. Great atmosphere and good music.
The service is of poor quality. Yesterday, we had to wait 30 minutes because of a new policy on clothes that never came before. The security guy at door does not even know which people are regular. The guy only recognize girl face he said great taktics for profiling. Around 00hr45 the place was crowded and only 1 bar was on duty with limited drink available
Ordered a Heineken beer at noon. Got served a Blue Marlin instead. Changed, got a warm Heineken offered. Refused it and got a warm Blue Marlin served. Called the manager. No cold beer available. Fnally decided for a cold sparkling water. 4 Restaurants, 3 bars!!! Sound like a joke, but isn't.
Just got served the lamb chops. Ordered medium grilled, some ok, some overcooked. The potatoes of the potato gratin were raw, I men really raw and uneatable. Sorry, never again..
We had a few beers at the bar during the evening. It’s a great place - very classy with great views. Lovely to watch the boats and people around the waterfront from the bar. There is a cool free water taxi that takes you to the bar!
Very Pleasant Stay
I am NOT a hotel person!! I had to stay at Le Surffren for 2 weeks.
The staff, from the reception to the dining room were all extremely friendly and helpful.
The breakfast is good, but gets boring after a week or so, because there is no variety.
The evening meals were excellent, but again, if you must stay away from carbohydrates, the menu is limited. BUT!! When I asked for vegetables instead of rice of potato chips, they were SPOT ON!! I should have thought of that earlier.
Friday nights are noisy, because of music and dancing. Unfortunately I was close to the noise. I put on the Air-conditioner and it drowned most of the noise so that I could sleep.
All in all, a good experience.
Good choice for business trip. But for the same price it's more recommendable to go to five star hotels next to the sea. Don't expect too much about the restaurant. No surprise.
Clean, well maintained friendly staff although service can be a little slow.
Visited December 2016. Nicely located overlooking part of the port from the rear of the hotel.
Ok Spa but spa service somewhat disappointing compared with other spa services in Mauritius. No hair dressing service anywhere. You have to go to Le Caudan with one disappointing hairdresser on 1st floor and one on ground floor which is also a spa but with limited staff and opening hours.
It is suitable hotel for business in the port area. Good view easy to be accessed
Average rooms for the price. Nothing great, but the room service is appalling. Medium well done burger came in raw, the club sandwich is a slice of ham, a lettuce leaf (1) a hint of tomato and what might pass as an egg between four slices of bread. Laughable except for the price. Stay here don't eat here.
Le Suffren is located at the prime place and close to shopping center. The staffs were really courteous and friendly. A special mention about Warren at the pool bar, Vikas and Fabrice at the Restaurant. Thank you everyone for making my stay feel like home. Small suggestion the dessert variety could be increase as there is no much option.
All good. The staff are friendly and the gym is very convenient. Very clean as well.
Verry nice two floor apartments with kithen and terrace. Minus for location. It is not closed to the beach. The best way to go to centre is use free of charge hotel water taxi.
Nice setting for breakfast meeting. Cappuccino not recommended and over priced. Service is ok, don't expect too much, price not in relation to service.
Nice views of the ocean and a great place for sundowners. Great service and excellent food. Reasonably priced too.
Place to be if ur a business personsituated in the heart of port louis
The people at the outsider bar are friendly, but challenged with simplest orders even with few guests. But nice sitting near the water and boat shuttle to town.
Wonderful place to have a business or friendly lunch staff are so helpful and parking facilities available.
Le Suffren is one of the best central / business hotel with all amenities needed for a business trip. All my customers are within a radius of 10Km, this avoids the mad traffic and gives me access to great restaurants. I have used the conference facilities / meeting rooms with pre-arrangements and needs for my customers and they took care of everything. The rooms are modern clean and spacious. The food is great and room service is efficient they are also willing to accommodate your requests if you don't want anything in the menu. I have stayed here several times and compared with the hotel (just a stone away) I find LS less formal and a lot more accommodating.
It's a good hotel. The rooms are new and comfortable but the air conditioning does not work properly in all the rooms.
¡There's only WiFi for 24 hours and maximum 500 mb! The signal is not very good and paying 175 € per night I think it's excessive.
