It was worth the trip to get my favourite coffees, coffee creamer and choice of different gravies at Shoprite. Delicious meals at the bistro although the service was a bit slow.

You can do yozr grocery here. Huge choice for food. In addition, you can find a very good restaurant where you get huge meals, it is delicious and not very expensive.

There is a medium-sized Shoprite grocery store over there and they sell real *smoked back bacon* (imported from SA) in the frozen section of the supermarket. If they don't have it, then pressure them to bring it back. It has same taste and great smell as the smoked bacon sold in UK supermakets. Mauritian made bacon is awful so discovering that bacon in Shoprite really made my day. The Q-Bornes Shoprite doesn't sell it so don't bother. There is also a very handy Espace Maison at Barachois Shopping Mall, with its own unique items for the region and very friendly staff.

This shopping mall in Tamarin provides something for everyone. Shoprite Super Market. Sundays they close at 17.00 hrs as opposed to London Store 13.00 hrs on Sundays. You have a couple of restaurants, Espace Maison which provides everything for the house, Canal +, Galaxy, Nabridas a pool specialist, The only Dry Cleaning that I know in Tamarin/Black River, Bio shop and couple of boutiques. First Sunday of every month, starts at 06.00 am, they have a flea market organised, it is not the type as in Europe, you ill find a lot of new stuff sold there at retail rate. I don't think we have yet understood the real concept of the flea market in Mauritius, not yet anyway.
