  هذا هو قصر الرئاسة أو ما يعرف محليا بالقصر الرمادي. هنا يفرق كل كبير وكل صغير، من هنا تحاك الثورات أو بالأحرى تنفذ الانقلابات. من كان سيد هذا القصر، دانت له كل موريتانيا، بناسها ودوابها وشجرها وطيرها ومائها. من كان السيد هنا كان السيد في كل هذا البلد. ومن اقتلع من مكانه في هذا القصر، فلا مكان يؤويه أو يمنعه أو ينصره.
