Very good portuguese egg tart. The crust is fluffy and flaky. Egg custard is tasty too. There are other types of pastries and sandwiches. Though crowded and long queue, service is quick. Do not expect friendly smiles
They're good, but from my experience having tried a lot of famous tarts in Portugal these ones are different and they do not compare. There is too much egg filling which is also too dense, and the taste of egg is too overwhelming. Still good if you haven't been to Portugal but are in this part of the world and want to taste a bit of Portuguese heritage.
Too many tourists, crowded. Very flaky and also oily crust, egg custard is too sweet for me. I still prefer Hong Kong styled egg tart with a cookie crust. The line moved quickly, if you happen to pass by it is worth a try.
The Foodie was the only thing I could tell. Egg tart taste quite good, but just a little bit expensive for single purchase. Suggest for a box set when travel with a group. However, too many visitors on the weekend and holiday at the tea time. Family Travelers should avoid peak time, especially who travel with baby.
It's one of the 'Foodie' things to do it Macau, to come the Margaret's and have an egg tart. You may find a massive queue of people waiting in line to buy the tarts.
The egg tarts are nice but don't really live up to the hipe. Best to go early or not at all. In the mornings there isn't much of a wait, and much more enjoyable to have the tarts seated out front on the quiet back street where the bakery is located.
One of the best egg tart.. just ignore the unfriendly service. They also sell another kind of bread, cake and kind of sandwiches. Should try if you visit Macau!
In Vienna there are two restaurants, which for about 186 years, have claimed that they invented the "Sacher torte" [a variation of the chocolate cake]-- and "chef Sacher" worked at both bakeries. Macau has their version of this rivalry- revolving around "Portuguese style egg tarts"-- but here the two bakers were, at one time married!!
Both tarts are really good-- but I favoured "Lord Stow's", as the crust seemed "to work better"!! Try them both-- and you be the judge as to which you find "best"!!
e Nata's egg tart is one of some famous one in macau.
It has more buttery skin and more eggy custard compare to "the other" famous one, but more rough presentation.
As i am still mesmerized by the other brand's egg custard, i cant give this full score.
But this is worth trying. My friend like e Nata more.
I came early in morning, around 9.15am weekday before I leave macau. Totally no queue and can enjoy it by sitting in front of the cafe. After some time, more crowds coming in.
Expect queues but they move rather swiftly. The poa tat is a bit disappointing. The puff is too soft and doesn’t offer enough crunch. The egg isn’t the right consistency and overall the taste is exceedingly average. I guess it’s worth trying at least once but don’t expect your taste buds to be tickled.
Be prepared to queue. The 1st cafe to popularize PoaTart. I had been here 20+ year. The cafe remain unchanged. Still keep the original ambience.
Authentic, fresh and top quality. Don't let the lines deceive you, you will get your food fast! The Portuguese tarts are a big draw card and a must have.
The eggtart was so good!! Scrumptious. Its a must try if you come here. It was all worth it even though we had to queue.
The Portuguese egg tarts are fresh and delicious.
Popular place, it’s crowded with tourists and locals.
More than just a fad. Absolutely delightful and the queue moves faster than most.
Fast line, but the ladies could benefit from a smile. Good egg tarts but nothing to write home about.
Amazing Portuguese egg tart. Flaky, buttery puff pastry with eggy, not too sweet custard. A thing not to be missed if you're in Macau. Can I choose between Lord Stow's and Margaret's? Honestly, I can't tell their differences.
The egg tarts are alright, well, they tasted good but not great , not worth the queue. Anyway you can get the exact same egg tarts in KFC. Sometimes the KFC tarts are fresher!
Awesome egg tart! But staffs rather rude
MOP10@, Long queues.. another famous one (Andrew?) tastes better to me
• Service : 2/5
- Where is kind? Put in the egg tart?
• Taste : 5/5
- Ymmy yummy :))
Hungry but no time to prepare?? Try to dine here. This store has a a tasty food with good price..
The best egg tart in HKG & Macau. There is a wait time of at least twenty minutes but it's worth waiting.
the Portuguese egg tarts are not bad for Macau and Hong Kong standard but they are still miles away from the real ones. Not up to the hype!
The Pastry is truly fine esp. Pasta de Nata. But the atmosphere (chaotic and very dirty) and the service is even worse. I dont think the staffs care much about it as the tourists are still coming by.
Although the staff aren't very friendly, the tarts are great. Not too sweet. There were two lines when I went, one for ordering and one for pick-up. You order and then keep the receipt and join the pick-up queue. It is also very fresh.
Really delicious Portuguese tarts. I can eat 2 dozen of these deliciousness, not overly sweet light, flaky and warm. Get inline for these babies is worth the short wait.
If you are a big fan of pastry, it would be the best dessert for you.
$10 for each egg tart. Notice that they may give your change in MOP.
people queuing, the tarts are over hyped. the service staff are really rude, maybe because they are too proud. shouted no pictures, shouted don't this don't that. really lousy . i had a protégées tart last night at a local cafe and is much better . these sort of service staff hope they wake up
