Have been taking breakfast here for quite a few years now, little has changed other than a few of the waitstaff. Same menu, same service, same regular Portuguese expats who frequent this place often enough that I see them regularly during my 3-4 visits per year.

I really like stopping by Caravela for a quick breakfast when arriving on early ferries from Hong Kong. They open pretty early, offer indoor and outdoor seating, some nice morning bites to eat as well as strong and good quality Delta brand coffee.

My favourite order is a simple Prego no Pão (steak sandwich) which is a small beef steak nicely grilled and served on a buttered bun. This is a good prego sandwich, keeps me well fed until lunch time.

To be fair, I'm not too hot on their egg tarts, finding them to taste too much like local Cantonese tarts with a bit of burn on the surface instead of the classic Portuguese style tarts. Best to try nearby Margarets if its tarts you fancy, stick with savoury breakfasts at Caravela.

After a quick breakfast at Caravela, you'll be ready to make way into the city centre for a full morning (or day) of sightseeing in the Macau World Heritage area.

I had an egg tart. Not bad, but not the best around here.

Came here for brekky. I stuck with a westerners meal which was silly but it was cooked well enough. It's a real proper back Street joint, to get a proper feel for Macau. Had a pot of tea, but had to keep ordering milk because they came in tiny cups.

    葡式蟶子飯 / Leitão à Bairrada com Batatas Fritas(Bairrada式烤乳豬伴薯條) / Rabanadas(葡式聖誕西多)

    Caracóis(葡國蝸牛) / Francesinha(波圖西多) / Arroz de Polvo(葡式八爪魚飯) / Salade de Atum(吞拿魚眉豆沙律)

Peito de Pato ao Vinho do Porto(砵酒鴨胸)
