  The old Post Office is the fourth stop on the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) sponsored 'Footsteps in the Historic Centre' self-walking tour. This trail makes its way through the Historic Centre of Macau, taking in numerous UNESCO World Heritage attractions, local historic buildings and other interest places for sightseeing.
  
  The 'Footsteps in the Historic Centre' walk begins at Avenida da Praia Grande, making its way to Leal Senado and several of the attractions at Senado Square, including the General Post Office.
  
  The Post Office was built 1929 featuring Neo-classical architecture reminiscent of the colonial period. It is one of Macau's most distinctively European buildings with a facade worth seeing during the day or night when it is lit up with floodlights. It is remains an active central post office for Macau so you can actually use the services here if need be. They have a stamp collectors section inside with some really neat local stamps to view and buy if interested.
  
  Note: The Post Office is open from 9am to 6pm during the week but closes at 3pm on Saturdays. It is not open on Sundays, something to keep in mind if in Macau over a weekend. Other attractions on this walking tour don't open until 10am so this one of the places that you can target visiting first if starting off early in the morning.
