Marked as a cruise port. It is Myanmar's main port. Set on a concrete platform on the Irriwaddy, which is usually used by a Chinese concrete company. The river has a high tidal range probably because the river 'backs up' on high tides.
There are no facilities here only a port run shuttle to the port gates. Here are a few taxis and a couple of "cafës". The local people live in poor conditions, but there was no malnutrition as far as I could see. But no running water or sanitation, they are friendly enough but their life could do with an uplift.l
