Why would you burn trash right next to hotel rooms?? Paid extra for a nice bungalow, but we can't sit outside because it's too smokey. Take it somewhere else to burn, at least, or you could maybe get extra business from eco-minded tourists if you started composting it!

This place was overall nice but a little problem in responding customer complaint (in my case, I don't know about others cases).

What I like about this resort:
- calm and relaxing atmosphere
- almost the whole compound is well shaded by the trees
- pool with the hilly backdrop
- gravel trials

What I dislike:
- lack of warm hospitality
- below-average staff performance
- substandard breakfast: fried rice with peas and one fried egg.
- lack of attention to guests and failure to deliver what the guests really ask for; I specifically made an order of one fried noodle and the resort attendant brought me fried rice.
- pool size is only good for 4-6 people.

What I like about the semi-detached wooden house where I stayed:
- clean and decent sized bathroom
- front patio and swing
- green lawn
- garden tap outlet

What I dislike:
- lack of proper soundproofing; you can almost hear what your neighbors are up to.
- noisy and inconsiderate neighbors; they kept having loud conversation until 1:30 in the morning!
- close to worker stalls and give you the sense that you are not in a resort, rather feel like living in someone's backyard.

I liked this place. Beautiful, wooded and peaceful surroundings. Cool bar out on its own with an incredible view. Nice rooms. Comfortable beds. Would be difficult to get to Golden Rock if you didn't have your own transportation (which I did). Would be 5 stars but for a couple little things. No Wifi in the rooms. There was a kettle, but no coffee. Restaurant and bar are a bit overpriced.
