Thanks a lot David and Winnie ! It was a great stay in Ye. The house is very nice, comfortable and clean. The breakfast has been the best during our trip in Burma, special mention for the pancakes and the coffee ;-) David and Winnie are very helpful, David gave us a lift to fetch our bus tickets and Winnie called a mototaxi to go to the bus station. They naturally propose their help and it's very appreciable. A big thank for you two !

It is the best guesthouse in Ye.I usually drop my clients at there for a night stop. I do appreciate that there is no complain but they said only well sleepiness and wonderful breakfast. Thank you, Starlight.

I had a very nice stay. My room was spacious, the atmosphere was wonderful, the breakfast was delicious and the view from the terrace was incridible. More importantly, the hosts were great and took care of everything I requested. Thank you!

David and Winnie are running an amazing guesthouse! The rooms are real clean and feel cosy and homely. Beds are super comfortable, good hot shower and air con and fan. Amazing view of the lake from our room too. Breakfast is also great - toast with butter and jam, eggs, fruit, and actual proper filter coffee. They can help you with places to visit and to eat. David took us to his English class one night which was real nice. We also took a trip to Juan Yua village with their lovely guide Sam, and you can swim in the river in the jungle which is pretty perfect.

Their daughter Emma deserves a paragraph of her own. What an amazing kid! So funny and chatty, and a great tour guide considering she's only 8. She showed us some pretty cool magic tricks and kung fu moves and took us to feed the fishes by the pagoda.

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days and I genuinely felt a bit sad to leave this great family! Highly recommend.

Only point would be that like the rest of Myanmar, Wi-Fi is quite slow and it's worth getting a sim card with data.

    Fantastic Hosts!
We chanced upon this place and were treated brilliantly from start to finish. Emma the daughter took us on a walking tour, she is thoughtful, kind and funny. we miss her already! They are full of knowledge and we even rented a scooter for 8000 and were treated to a day tour from some other kind long term guests (Tomas and Mo) The room was comfy, the pillow a bit small, the bathroom spacious and clean.
    Book early. Recommended!

It was a challenge to start a quality tourism business in a city which was somehow isolated in the past due to several political reasons. Starlight had been providing the best services to the visitors since 4 years ago, when there were only three guesthouses in the city. David and Winny picked up the best spot in the city, on the hill just beside the famous ancient lake. They both know well how to make the visitors convenient and help experience the city and around. Comfortable Rooms with air conditioning and hot water shower, European Breakfast with local fruits, Motorbike Rental, Travel Map, Travel Tips or Local Guide Rental are the great services they provide. The building is not too big but David can manage the space well not to make the visitors feel tight. The best part for me is to have the breakfast while gazing at the lake and feeling the cool morning breeze. Language will not be a problem as David is a native speaker and Winny's English is excellent. Winny is a native 'Mon' ethnic lady from this area. You can also hear from Winny about Ye City, the life stories of local people and herself in the past. Though new hotels and guesthouses are established in Ye, Starlight will be my first choice as this is the place where I can feel the hospitality and real service.

Unique in Myanmar, a true guest house, where you are torn between lounging around or following the owner's list of suggested activities. Beware; one night is not enough!!
